After being dropped at wrong hotel (this group has another hotel very close with similar name - couldn't blame taxi). the friendly welcome partly made up for the dated and tired decor of the lobby, the bar positively would encourage you not to hang around, think works canteen. Desperately needs an upgrade (unless this is what €95 gets you in... more

Since this was our first trip to Spain, ( small town canadian folk)we were alittle unsure of what to expect. After searching the internet using hotels.com for days I finally booked at the senator espana spa hotel. I'm glad I did.... It has such a great location within minutes usually under 10mins. in any direction you were at an important... more

Good location, great breakfast with loads of choice of fruits, cheeses and meat. Room was small but clean and comfortable. The electric beds were cool, free mini bar a nice touch. We had an interior room, which had virtually no natural light. If you are going to be out all day and are just going to use the room to... more

just returned from 3 night break, this hotel excellent. staff really helpful, food varied and plentiful. My 7 and 9 year old thought the rooftop jucuzzis amazing! fantastic views of madrid, including the royal palace while you chill.rooms not that spacious( we had one with 2 double beds) but useable, window opened onto the Gran Via, but no trouble with... more

Myself and 12 friends arrived on Friday 29 June for two night stay on Saturday 1 July early afternoon while sitting in the foyer of the hotel, which is maned by a security guard, my sisters handbag was stolen which include many valuables along with her passport. We had to make all the phone calls to the Police and Embassy... more

We deeply regret the incidences during your stay with us. We would like to inform you, that apart from the security guard we have recently installed cameras of surveillance in the hotel to minimize happenings like this. In any case I would like to comment you that from the part of the hotel as well as from the part of...

A good clean hotel, we had a spacious twin room with twin double beds, roomy bathroom, good shower, in room fridge stocked with fruit juices, soft drinks and beers. Sound proofing was very good for a main road location as long as the window closed. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, continental with many meats and cheeses. Reception staff... more

I would recommend the Senator Espana to anyone travelling to Madrid. The location was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful and the bedrooms were fabulous! We contacted the hotel prior to arrival to arrange a room with a view of the Gran Via which was ready on arrival. Unfortunately the hotel system wasn't working and we were originally sent... more

We've just come back from a 4 night stay at the Senator Espana and had a great stay. There were some pros and cons which I'll detail here. CONS first - get the bad stuff out of the way! Although 4 star rated I don't think it really is compared to other hotels I've been in. The room is definitely... more

Talk about disappointed! For the money we spent on this hotel we were not happy. The lobby & bar area are not very welcoming. The 1st room we were assigned was pokey, small with 1 curtain that didn't cover the window. The reclining beds did not work.I asked if it was much trouble to change room - the Reception staff were helpful but... more
