We chose this hotel because of the wireless internet connexion in rooms, which was free and worked well (a bit slow though) our room had a balcony with a nice view on the pool the room was big, a bit old styled but fine quiet hotel, relaxing experience we had a rental car and used the casino car park for... more

One of our best weeks away staying in this wonderful hotel. A fabulous location - the park was a delight to walk around before breakfast, before bed and people watching over a beer! Hotel rooms were very comfortable - everything we needed (true no kettle but we have never been in a 5 * that did!) . The terrace bar... more

I cannot belief that I stayed at the same hotel as the last two negative reviews! We had a wonderful relaxing time at the hotel and attached garden. One of Las Palmas's tourist buildings, the Nestor museum, is also on the edge of the garden. As it was Christmas we had a bottle of Cava in one of our rooms... more

I booked this hotel as I was impressed by what I saw and read about it on the travel compantywebsite. I t looked terrific, the location looked terrific and the 5* facilities sounded terrific. When we drove up th e palm lined avenue and caught first site of the entrance I thought it was just as I imagined. It was... more

I chose Santa Catalina due to the 5* rating, the decent web site and a couple of well answered e-mails. But that is where the good experience ended when it comes to customer service. Good things about the hotel: Good location Nice place around Had one of the best massages in the spa and I generally dont complement masseurs. An... more

There is no doubt that the Santa Catalina is a grand dame, complete with history, grace, and atmosphere. We booked a superior room and were shocked to find that it was a 1st floor corner suite, complete with fully finished sitting room and 20ish ft ceilings. The decor is period (most of it authentic), great marble floors and an enormous... more

Booked a twin room with cot and balcony quite late for about £70 p/n inc breakfast. There were no problems with check-in, the staff were very friendly ( all spaniards seem to love a baby )parking was complementary (and we'd recommend hiring a car in GC). The room was big, clean and comfortable, the aircon didn't work brilliantly but the... more

We visited this hotel 1st - 8th November 2007 and found it overall a lovely experience. Admitted the hotel is away from the beach but a courtesy bus is available each morning and afternoon and a taxi costs only E3.50 for 1 way which is hardly exhorbitant. We had a very large room with balcony overlooking the gardens to the... more

I spent 3 nights here at the end of a 3 week trip to Gran Canaria. The hotel's public rooms are quite palatial. Reminicent of an olde world luxury Italian hotel. The restaurants are quite grand with excellent menus and service. The waiting staff are all in black and starched white aprons for the waitresses. The bar is quite grand... more
