I loved staying here. The owners are very nice and their English is great so everything was very easy. Breakfasts consists of soft boiled egg, breads, cheese, meats and plenty of coffee, all served to you (as opposed to a buffet). An easy 10 minute walk to the Dom. Stayed here with my 11 year old daughter for a sightseeing trip of Cologne, found it to be very friendly, cosy and safe. The couple who run it have the most wonderful English which helps those of us who don't speak German so well! Very safe to walk back at night and close to all attractions and public transport. Hotel Im Kupferkessel is a family-owned (for over 30 years), well run, clean, and affordable hotel in a great location. A 10-minute walk from the train station and then just short walks to shopping, restaurants, etc. I had a single room with shared bath (just down the hall) and photos of both are included. This hotel is conviently located right in the center of Cologne about a 10 minute walk from the Dom. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable although I hate those flat German pillows...those are everywhere though. We had a good quality stay at Hotel Im Kupferkessel. Nice friendly owners, most helpful. Room’s tastefully decorated a change from bland IBIS hotel rooms. Everything spotlessly clean and a great breakfast each morning. Would recommend to anyone staying in Cologne. more

Very good value. Clean room, very good breakfast. Good location between the cathedral and ring road around central Cologne (where there are many good restaurants). Nice, friendly staff (who speak Engish if required) Great value overall and I would certainly stay again more
