An amazing honeymoonLots Of construction going on in the area, but still very quiet and clean. Slept well but it was a long walk to the tourist sights and train station more
We enjoyed 4 nights at the Novotel Koln June 23-27/08. The hotel is a brisk 15 minute walk from the central train station or 20 minutes if packing luggage (5 minute taxi ride). There is nothing much in the immediate vicinity around it - you need to walk to the centre (10 minutes) or opposite direction for cafes, bars etc.... more
This hotel is pretty unexceptional - but I had an enjoyable stay and few complaints. It is clean, well maintained, with basic modern furniture. The bed was very comfortable, the room a decent size, and the bathroom was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was fairly good, with a wide buffet selection, and for an additional two euros it can... more
Seven of us stayed at the Novotel whilst in Cologne for new years eve. It was very reasonably priced the rooms were clean and well serviced. Our rate did not include breakfast, but as we were checking out on new years day and thought there would be limited availability of breakfast elsewher we all paid the 15 euros for a... more
This hotel was fine for what we were after. Nothing special but nothing bad about it. The rooms were big but fairly simple and non-descript. It's about a 20 min walk into the main part of town. It does overlook the river but in an industrial part! more
A generally good hotel with large rooms and friendly staff. This hotel is great value when rooms are 70-90 euros (sometimes including breakfast), but isn't good value when there is a trade fare on in Cologne when you can pay up to 150 euros per night. When the hotel is full it is quite noisy and difficult to sleep beyond... more

I stayed for 2 nights with my husband and 2 teenage sons in June. We were given a family room with a double bed and 2 singles (pullout couch) for the boys. The beds were very comfortable. The check in staff were very pleasant. There was free internet with a computer we could use. The breakfast (free with the City... more
We stayed in an ensuite double room facing the Rhine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and included a cooked breakfast. Location was ok, about a 15/20 mins walk to the main square area. Very close to the sports and chocolate museums. Room was spacious and clean. Very nice hotel. more
Just stayed here for 2 nights on a pay-on-departure B&B rate, which was significantly cheaper than the rack at just €73 per night. There's a busy road out front and lots of construction, so to echo the advice of another reviewer, ask for a room overlooking the courtyard. The room was pretty standard, but big and very clean. The bed... more
