Great location and very comfortable room. We are picky about beds and both of us slept like a stone! The owner-manager is shy about using English but once engaged is very friendly and eager to help. He gave us a tip for parking our car in a "secret" spot along the city wall and we didn't have to pay a... more

We wanted to see the Nightwatchman tour, so opted to stay in the Raidel for one night, which turns out to be a mistake. This house has 'character' aplenty. It's old, creaky and dark. The room was outdated, the bathroom dirty with moldy shower curtain (and yes, no soap at all). We had a room facing the street. I don't... more

Our family booked this room over the internet. It looked great and we were not disappointed. It is right in the heart of Rothenburg. The house was beautiful and the breakfast room was very romantic. Excellent value for the money. My mother-in-law and her friend also stayed at the Raidel and they also loved it. The rooms might be considered... more

You would have to stay there and see for yourself what you are missing. It is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, you could ask for nothing else more on a historic stay to a wonderful city. Stayed here in 2003 and 2006, wish I could start planning my next vist. more

Stayed here for 2 nights in October 2007. Good points: Reasonable price and clean accomodation. Close to the town centre. Negative points: No soap provided! No heating (Mr Raidel says its too expensive to heat the whole place so I can imagine this place will be very cold sometimes) No TV - this may not be a negative point for... more

We stayed her with our 2 teenagers, 13 & 15, in August. My son thought it was the most interesting house he'd ever been in. The 500 year old B&B was filled with beds and furniture that was handmade by Mr. Raidel. Everywhere you looked was an interesting sculpture, plant, chair, picture, etc. Mr. Raidel seemed shy about his English... more

My family (2 adults and a teenager) booked a room for 3 for one night. The rate was great (70 Euros). There was a mix up and when we arrived a room wasn't available for 3. The owner gave us 2 rooms (one with bathroom/shower and one without) for the original price. It worked out fine, but was a bit... more

This was such a beautiful guest house. Our room was beautiful and clean. The owners were very pleasant and we had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect inside the walls and close to the town hall. This was one of the nicest and least expensive places we stayed during our trip to Europe, it wasn't fancy but had so... more

It was a late arrival, but the host waited for us at the door. We got an old style clean room on the floor. An unforgetable stay in a historic town. more

What a wonderful stay! Four of us and an infant stayed in a 4-person room with a private bath. We awoke in the morning to sounds of horses walking down cobblestone streets and church bells chiming the hour in the distance. Comfortable beds, warm, cozy rooms and a genuinely pleasant host made for wonderful memories. The 500+ year old hotel... more
