My parents, daughter (2 1/2) and I spent two nights at Hotel Colmar and had a wonderful time. Although the hotel could use a slight refurbishment the location and value cannot be beat. Get a room with a balcony, have a beer or wine and enjoy people watching. The staff was very helpful. We will definitley return. more

Just finished a 3 day stay at the Hotel Colmar to start our vacation. The hotel was charming in a great location. Easy to walk to the streets of Baden Baden from the hotel while eating your gelato. We had a a two room suite which was perfect for our family of four. Though the hotel is older, it is... more

Our family stayed at this hotel for one night and we thought it was fine. The staff were very helpful and with a rambling one and a half year old they were fabulous with the breakfast. I can see how one would say it is more for the grey rinse crowd but seriously, how many european hotels give you a... more

This place needs updating. Mauve walls went out in the 80's. It was a Greyhound bus kind of place. The British ladies next to us at the no view depressing breakfast room couldn't wait to get back to McDonalds for lunch. We checked out and went to Gasshause Lowenbrai and loved it. Cozy, friendly, what fun. I'm throwing my Rick... more

Hotel was lovely and the lady at the desk was very friendly. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. I would like to clarify that THERE IS NO A/C contrary to what some sites have indicated so it was very, very hot. Also, I was there during the World Cup and had a room facing the street so it was unbearably noisy. Not... more

I stayed at the Hotel Colmar for only 1 night. My room (appartment) was very spacious. There were two rooms, a living area with a kitchette and the bedroom and bathroom. The location was perfect. The room faced the street with a lovely little terrace. It was great to sit out on the terrace in the evening time. The staff... more

We had a charming, spacious king-room, with really fluffy versions of the German down-comforters! It is a little noisy on the street side, especially if you sleep with the windows open since it is not air-conditioned. Our first encounter with staff was less than fruitful, but an engaging blonde woman in her late 40's came to the front desk and... more

We stayed at the Hotel Colmar for only 1 night. It was a very charming hotel. In the center of the city, great location for walking to all the different sites. We found this hotel in Rick Steve's guidebook and was not disappointed. The rooms were nice size, we had 2 very comfortable twin beds with a room facing the... more

We stayed at Hotel Colmar in December 2004. Although it was not a scheduled stop, the bus driver dropped us off at the bottom of the street when we told him "Hotel Colmar" and the street. You definitely need to take a taxi or bus from the train station, since it was quite a ways away. Other than the steps... more

Next door to the Zum Hirsh (which itself is a good hotel) and half the price... a good quality value find for those on a budget. Same size room, beds etc and good breakfast. We spent 4 nights in Baden and loved it. The Spas, the restaurants and the ambience are wonderful. Ryanair fly to Baden direct from England cheaply... more
