The location of this hotel isn't bad. The site tells you it's in the city center. Not remotely in the center, It's 25 minutes by walking or an 8 euro taxi. I just finished another stay at the Mercure President (12 nights) for business, and I can say I think this the best 3-star Hotel in Grenoble. The rooms are in the process of being refurbished, the upper 5 floors (50 rooms) for non-smokers only - the remaining lower 2 floors will be reserved for smokers and are not being refurbished.... more

Stayed here for several times while on business in Grenoble. Overall a nice hotel and friendly helpful staff. Even ordered me a pizza for delivery to the hotel. Make sure you get one of the newly re-furbished rooms - much better - new bathrooms and decent LCD TV, comfortable beds. Not tried the pool but looks good. Car park gets... more

Nicely presented with excellent staff speaking near perfect English. Food was above average and my room was clean and roomy, with modern bathroom and plenty of local info. Breakfast was continental with a good selection avaialble. Did not use the evening restaurant. Spoiled a little when I was presented with someone else's bill, which seemed to cause a minor crisis. more
