Just returned from 4 nights at Hotel Faucigny. Great little find. We were initially disappointed at the size of the room (very small with just a dorma window - albeit with a view of M Blanc!) but when you are only paying 79 euros a night what do you expect? The hotel owners can't do enough to help you and... more

This is a very good two star hotel but that's all it is. Don't be fooled by the other reviews into believing that this hotel is better than a two star, it just ain't! This hotel has all the amenities (or lack of amenities) of a typical two star hotel, with the added bonus that it is in a great... more

I stayed for 5 nights in the middle of January and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a great location of the top of the pedestrian village opposite the TI and steps away from an excellent ski school. The hotel is clean and very well run. With many years in hotel management, I can say that with authority. I... more

The snow in Chamonix was very poor over Christmas 2006 but I had a great time. The village is only 1 hour from Geneva and so is very easy to get to. I booked my transfer through ATS via the Easyjet website. They subcontracted the work to a company called ACT. I have since checked ACT's own website and they... more

We just returned from a two-week Eurorail trip that, for a couple of thirty-somethings (lower end), was an attempt to turn the clock back a decade or so and take the sort of high-octane Europe-tour vacation one might take as a 22-year-old, but at the slightly slower pace and slightly higher budget creaky knees and a couple graduate degrees (albeit... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in January 2006 and really couldn't fault the place. We’ve stayed in other (more expensive) hotels in Chamonix and the Faucigny has to be one of the best we’ve experienced in the town. Our room on the top floor was recently decorated; the bed comfortable and the bathroom modern. Everything was spotlessly clean. The... more

Went there in April this year. Chamoix town itself is very small. You can walk from one end to another with ease. This hotel is tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the town centre yet it's really near everything else. Us 4 gals loved our room. It's on the second floor and has a superb view of... more

This hotel is excellent and here's why: The price! The Faucigny is only 69 euros (plus tax) per night. Compare this price to 150+ euros per night for other hotels in Chamonix, and it's a steal. The price difference is obviously huge and you can take your extra 80+ euros you save each night and buy dinner and drinks instead!!... more

I would simply reiterate the other positive comments about this great little Chamonix hotel. Perfectly located in the heart of the town with superb views of the Mont Blanc range, this hotel has all the amenities you would expect - and more - for the price. But what truly sets it apart are the charming owners, Jacqueline and Guy Ecochard,... more

We stayed here in March 2004 with for a four day ski-ing break. We paid about £40 per night. The hotel is very centrally located, being two minutes from the main area of Chamonix town. It's close to the shops, bars and restaurants, though secluded enough to be peaceful. It is possible to walk to the Brevant cable car from... more
