This is a High class Michelin star restaurant, that charges a high price for the food and service. We paid 300 euro for the two of us, which is about three times more than any other good meal we've had out in Europe. THis was a big night out. The setting is beautiful, wood paneled room, classy old world furnishings.... more

I read many reviews before selecting this hotel and i was a bit puzzled by the fact tha most loved the place while some were really dissapointed. Its true, the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Chamonix downtown core, and there is a train track in the back, and a road right next to the hotel, and yes... more

I have stayed in Chamonix many times and always wanted to stay here, finally a room was free. The arrival was a slight disappointment, we couldnt find space to park the car, the staff were somewhat stiff and the room did not match the newly renovated ones on the web site, the torquiose bathroom looked like it dated from the... more

We stayed at the place called La Ferme where rooms are a mix of modern furniture and old wood wich is a true great place. I know theay alsi hace refurbished the main historic hotel but we did not try it so far. Given the rate, we could only experience a couple of days but really enjoyed it. The restaurant... more

My family and I stayed in two adjoining and connecting rooms (including 308) on the third floor of the main building. This is a wonderful hotel, beautifully appointed with an old world feeling combined with ultrachic and ultramodern facilities. We could have stayed here a week! The beds are big, fluffy and very comfortable. The furnishings are quite modern. The... more

What more can I say? We chose our room (45m) in the La Ferme Chalet. Beautifully appointed and the service was excellent. This should be a 5 star Hotel. The room had a fireplace which was great, as the temps were low - even for June. It has a large bathroom with jets and relaxing bath salts and a first... more

When I hopefully return to Chamonix, the Albert 1er will be my first choice. We arrived in Chamonix after driving from Bellagio without any hotel booked for our one night stay on our way to Paris. The first hotel we tried was the Albert 1er and after looking at a room (a suite), we were sold! I wished I could... more

Great hotel and fantastic restaurant, really enjoyed the two michelin starred restaurant and its well worth taking the half board option. The hotel staff were great and drove us to and from the slopes every, day they also organised ski lessons with a private instructor at very short notice. Overall I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who enjoys fantastic... more

I went to this hotel a long time agao but i've forgotten to write a comment and honnestly, this is one of my most amazing hotel experience... Imagine a mountain style wood house overlooking the Mt Blanc with a fabulous indoor-outdoor heated pool secluded in an adorable garden. Imagine a contemporary design with some local antiques. Imagine a very large... more

I am a frankly amazed to see such as set of 5.0 reviews. The only correct comments are those of the person from Milan who rightly recommends Gatsaad for luxury, The facts are this hotel suffers from a poor location sandwiched between a road overpass and the railway track . It was once a 2-3 star and has gained its... more
