For a reasonable price this hotel offers good location, friendly service (also in English), stylish public areas, a little gym and a lovely (although shady) garden with a pool. The standard room - not one of those "designer rooms" - was a bit worn, but totally acceptable and always clean. We might very well stay there again. more

We spent a lovely stay and we were very surprised to have the opportunity to choice between a traditional room and a artist room. We finally chose the second one facing the garden but the first one was very funny. The garden is delightful and the staff as well. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends. more

It seems that they are trained to try to put you in the smallest room first and see if you would complain or not. We asked for a non-smoking room, but the smell was so strong. Location is not something to write home about. more

This hotel bills itself as a "artsy" boutique hotel - but it fails dismally. The hotel has a nice garden - however this opens onto a fairly busy street hence is fairly noisy. The rooms are small with very poor lighting and fittings. The AC barely works, the TV is somewhat temperamental, the bed and furnishings minimal. There is no... more

Convenient location, very friendly ambience and lovely garden terrace area for breakfast in the summer. Our bedroom did not have a view and looked onto a street, but in fact the character of the bedroom itself meant that the view was not needed to give the room an interesting feel. Be prepared for slightly 'wacky' modern designs, but in good... more

What a wondeful, small hotel. In a really good location to explore all of Nice, but away from the really busy touristy streets. Lovely unexpected garden and pool area. Make sure you get a room that overlooks the garden, rather than the road. We stayed in room number 54 - Henri Olivier which had a lovely view and a beautiful... more

We stayed in the Hotel Windsor back in Summer 2004. We loved the quirky rooms- with the individual decor! However we did find the room slightly small, particularly the bathroom. The graden is lovely for sitting and taking breakfast, but we found the pool too shady for swimming in. The location is great for walking to the beach, shops and... more

Not what I expected drab, tiny rooms. First room we were put in was miniscule and that wasn't even one of the cheaper rooms in the hotel! Garden view by day, at night room illuminated by floodlight on balcony. Called reception, they said lights out at 11pm, 11pm where? Sydney? Moved to another room the next day, slightly larger but... more

The only problem we had with Hotel Windsor was finding it when we first entered Nice. Frankly, Rue Dalpozzo is only on the most detailed of maps plus the maze of one-way streets in the area were not all that helpful. Although we are generally good with maps and directions, it took us three calls to the hotel and a... more

We Stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Windsor in June 2005, the room was at the front and was smallish with a half screened wash area which seemed a bit odd but wasnt really a problem. They'd also fitted in a small table and 2 small easy chairs and the walls were decorated with interesting murals. we paid about... more
