Have just returned from Nice, where we spent three nights at the Marche aux Fleurs. Admittedly, Nice is expensive at the best of times and so even though we paid £80 a night we weren't expecting luxury. On the plus side: * The hotel is in a superb location - right on the sea front and next door to the... more

We stayed at the Mercure for five nights in June 2008. We booked our room directly on the hotel website. There was a problem with the booking process and when we immediately called the hotel about the problem, the hotel staff were completely unhelpful. This unhelpfulness was a constant problem during our stay. We had notified the hotel that we... more

The hotel is in a great location for everything. A little far from the railway station if you want to travel by train though. The rooms are small but very nice and fine for a few nights. The communal areas were small so there wasnt a nice bar area to have a drink in. Reception were very helpful and the... more

The hotel really exceeded my expectations. Location is perfect, probably the best in Nice. Being on promenade, you have easy access to other key tourist areas, such as Old Town and Place Massena. Opera beach is just accross the street. The service was OK and staff friendly. Expected small room, but got duplex with small area on the first floor... more

We were delighted to spend a couple of nights in our very clean and basic room at this small hotel, looking out at an alley where the real Nicoise live and hang their laundry. The hotel faces the ocean and fabled promenade and is within walking distance to the flower market and open air food market in the Old Town.... more

Position of hotel is perfect being on the Promenade des Anglais and close to the old town. Reception at the hotel is good but the rooms are exceedingly small being just over 2 metres wide with a gallery bedroom. This would have been OK had the air conditioning actually cooled the air. The bedroom, being close to the ceiling, was... more

Excellent location with a clean and large enough rooms. It was a good base for Our 7 days of honeymoon. Room was very clean and stuff was helpful. Location is wonderful, don't bother yourself with private beaches. The public beach in front of the hotel was great a little busy but we'd always found a place to lie on the... more

The hotel is superbly located in the old town, with the opera on one side, the Marché aux Fleurs behind, and the Promenade des Anglais with clean public beach and good facilities immediately in front; it's a five minute walk to the shops of place Masséna, fifteen minutes up the hill to the Château, and a short drive from the... more
