I believe its all in the detail and des Sens leaves too much detail to chance. The rooms are dark and dingy relying on lots of artificial light to combat the small windows. Very clever design -- they've cloaked a suburban villa in a modernist outfit and added a beautiful glass extension for the restaurant. Charming, multi-national staff, over-planted garden gives the impression of space, has private corners and smells wonderful. On our journey from Italy to Spain in June we opted to stay at Le Jardin Des Sens one night to try their renowned restaurant. I visited Le Jardin des Sens last year. We stayed in their suite complete with decking sitting area with wonderful loungers, table and chairs and electric shade! A great restaurant with hotel too. The restaurant is clearly what people come for - doesn't look like it from outside. Building is a rather stark grey and looks like an old theatre or cinema !
