This was about standard for a Mercure. I found the front desk staff very helpful. I booked two rooms with a travel agent discount for about 100 euros each. The rooms are small, but average for Paris. It probably is not worth much more than this price. Our room looked directly to the east to the Sorbonne. I know Paris... more
I used to work in Paris regularly and stayed at this hotel many times during 2005-2006. It is one of my favourite mid-market hotels in Paris and one I often recommend. I love the location, right near the lively latin quartier but down a quiet and peaceful street. The rooms are small, but you rarely get big rooms in Paris... more
Part of Mercure chain and offering good standard of accommodation. The service was pleasant and helpful, the rooms are clean, small but well equipped, bathrooms compact. The breakfast buffet is adequate. There is no restaurant but several cafe/brasseries within a couple of minutes walk offer food throughout the day. The location is excellent, in a quiet street but only a... more
Booked this one in a hurry then saw some of the other reviews and wished we hadn't gone for the cheap web hot deal which brooks no cancellation! Fortunately fears unfounded. Location brilliant - small street right opposite the Sorbonne, down the hill from the Pantheon and 300 m from the RER/Metro. Were initially offered a room on the ground... more
I spent 1 night in this hotel with two friends and it was a nightmare. The room was not clean, blankets with steams. Old furniture. We were three in the room and it was so small that we could not move. We immediately went to the reception and asked if it was possible to have another room. People at the... more
Myself and my son stayed in this hotel on a weekend trip, it is located just beside the university and has alot of activity going on. Really nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was not huge but we didnt have to climb over furniture to get around. The bathroom was quite large and really modern. I would have... more
We picked this hotel (stayed 9/19 & 9/20) because of it's location in the lively Latin Quarter of Paris. The Sorbonne University is located in front of the hotel and the streets are alive and safe til the wee hours of the morning. Inspite of the activity, our room was very well sound-proofed. The hotel is modern with a bar... more
I was taken to the Mercure for my birthday present as I had requested a hotel in the 5th arrondissment (the area that I lived over 20 years ago as an 18 year old) The hotel was indeed in the perfect location for me, within walking distance of Notre Dame and the river and across the road from the Jardin... more
Very good location, but the hotel itself was only average. The rooms are quite small, but clean. The real problems were the terrible, wafer thin (yet lumpy) pillows and the cramped bathroom. There are no shower curtains, so every shower meant that the whole bathroom (and any clothes) ended up soaked, no matter how carefully you tried to bathe. The... more
