When my wife and I arrived at St. Malo and Hotel Elizabeth our original plan was to stay 1 night. The hotel was so inviting, charming, and the service provided by Jean-Nicholas was so personal we almost immediately booked a second night throwing our trip schedule to the wind. I would like to think I am a fairly independent traveller.... more

As frequent travellers through St Malo it was an absolute treat to stay overnight, and in such a charming hotel within the walls. Despite arriving late due to ferry delays, the concierge was polite and helpful. He even offered to arrange a restaurant for us at gone 11pm. We stayed in Les Armateurs - the Ship Owner's House part of... more

Welcome travelers, This can be short ! Are you thinking of booking this hotel?? Just do it. In no respect will it let you down. I will embellish now..... The hotel is in two pieces. Les Amatures and Skippers. It therefore offers two prices, either way you get the most exceptional service and information from the very proud owners. So... more

I had been to St Malo before, but my wife hadn't so we planned a break there this summer. I drove up from Switzerland and met my wife in Paris after she flew in from Copenhagen from a symposium. The next day we set out for Bretagne. The first impression is always good and it was nice to be greeted... more

I am sure that Jean-Nicholas gets many one nighters on their way to or from the UK and the ferry to Portsmouth. However that does not mean you don't get exceptional service at this gem of a place inside the walls of old St Malo. Much recommended! more

The second time we have stayed. Just as excellent as last time. Isabelle and Jean Nicholas are the perfect hosts - attentive, charming and full of energy. Everything is "no problem" The hotel, whilst small, was spotless. Quiet area but all the delights of St Malo, literally just around the corner. The staff were particularly helpful in reminding us of... more

We had two stays at the Hotel Elizabeth. We stayed in the main building "The Ship Owner" for two nights at the start of the holiday and 1 night in "The Skippers" before we went back to Poole. The owners: are brilliant, really friendly and gave us all the information about St Malo that we could want. We had excellent... more

The Hotel Elizabeth is one of those memorable lodgings that helps elevate a good experience into a wonderful one. While I've noticed that another reviewer didn't care for the annex, I found it a great thrill to stay in a 400-year-old lodging and my room was delightful. My one small suggestion: better reading lamps. Aside from the tastefully appointed room,... more

We stayed at the Hotel Elizabeth in St. Malo after touring Northern Brittany. It was easy to find and the owner came out to greet us and to park our old Jaguar in their secure garage. The staff were so friendly and the room for a small hotel was quite spacious. It was also immaculately clean This hotel is in... more

Hotel Elizabeth should be a blueprint of how small hotels are run. Smiling attentive staff and warm and friendly owners - all showed enthusiasm for providing a personal service to their guests. Whether it's where to go; how to get there; where to eat - nothing is too much trouble. more
