We needed an overnight before catching ferry from St Malo and foolishly thought we could book a room at the last minute. We stopped at an Etaphotel near Angers to ask about rooms near St Malo and were told, very curly, that there were no rooms 'ANYWHERE'. Decided that they were horrible boxy places anyway. With 5 days to go... more

Dinard's lovely, but this is a hotel you might avoid: steep prices for a room with peeling wall paper, moldy walls, sagging beds, and the reek of 1,000 years worth of cigarette smoke (Euro65/night for two during high season).Folks who run it are nice, and the location is central (no view), but the price isn't linked to the room's quality...... more
