The discounted rate is probably a fair one, but the standard of the room and decor is just not worth the rack rate. It was clean and tidy, but small, poorly soundproofed and a bit 80's. The hotel is right in the center of old town and not far from the train station. The room was nice, bed very comfortable. The service is responsive. Their bar is filled with fuchsia colored furniture and their lobby is decorated with all shades of earth tones to create a sense of serenity. This hotel is not afraid to use color. This is a fantastically located hotel right in the center of Strasbourg, minutes from the Cathedral and at most 20 minutes on foot from every corner of the central island. My partner and I really enjoyed our 3-day stay at the Sofitel. We had a room on the second floor facing the plaza, over the hotel terrace--which might get noisy come summertime, but was not an issue in April. Stayed at the Sofitel Strasbourg for six nights this past November into early December with my mom for leisure to tour the wine region, take a day trip to Zurich and or course, visit the Christmas markets.
