After spending some time researching the hotels on offer in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, I stumbled upon the Abode Rossetti. Despite some of the negative reviews, I chose to take a gamble and I have to say, was pleasantly surprised. The location was very convenient having travelled up to the city by train, and the greeting from reception was... more

Surpised to read quite critical comments of the Rossetti which did not match my experience. It is a classic industrial building with an interesting heritage in a very central location near Picadilly. Inside, the reception is to the left which initially threw me as it's simple with a table and a couple of pc's - and all the better for... more

6 of us travelled over from Ireland for a weekend in Manchester. 4 of us flew from SNN and 2 from DUB.The couple who flew from Dublin arrived earlier and hadn't actually booked into this hotel. But a problem at The Palace hotel(overbooking of the rooms) caused us to stay in this hotel. When we arrived in the Hotel Rossetti at around... more

The Rosetti should be a great hotel but at present is not. Apparently it is closing down soon and is being taken over so perhaps it will improve. The noise outside the hotel is dreadful especially when in the rooms at the back where an industrial company start loading and unloading lorries and banging skips around really loudly from 6.30... more

The Rossetti could be good and it is a shame to see that potential being wasted by the current owners. The building is well located and benefits from spacious dimensions. Some areas display considerable character, maintaining some of the charm of this old building. Therefore, as you walk in your hopes are high. That's when it starts to fall down.... more

My partner stayed here a few years ago and said it was excellent then. Sadly, on the basis of our overnight stay this week, he agrees with me that it is now a real disappointment. We got a late deal - 89.00 on laterooms.com - and maybe that explains why our room was dirty, small, noisy (from a faulty light,... more

When I walked in to the Rossetti, I was pleasantly surprised. The reception area, bar and retaurant all looked smart, and welcoming. The news got better when I was upgraded to a suite, and then it became a bit of an anti climax to be honest... Room was ok, but a bit "tired", it was absolutely massive - with mezzanine... more

How it's changed. This place used to be a viable alternative to the Malmaison over the road, and a bit cheaper. Shabby chic, with funky artefacts in reception and rock posters on the walls. Now it's just shabby. Unhoovered reception and uncared for feel throughout. The landing kitchens - which felt different and useful three years ago are now scruffy... more

Situated in Picadilly Gardens Hotel Rossetti is a good place to explore the steamy underbelly of Manchester nightlife. With the Northern Quarter and Oldham street just a stumble away it makes for an ideal HQ for a weekend of debauchery the like of which you will only find in this city. The staff were cool and helpful but not overbearing.I loved my... more
