Location not great. The "Nag's Head" that was outside was certainly not full of lovable rogues! That said I was on a budget overnight football match and staying here meant I could go to another game-£19 per night not to be sniffed at. Room basic but clean and a very helpful and friendly receptionist helped. Didn't bother with a beer... more

After reading a review on here which mentioned bed mites I was already wary about staying in Travelodge Sportcity. We had booked up for 3 nights on the Saver Rate and were allocated a room on the 2nd Floor. The room was small and dingy with an overpowering smell of bleach. When we switched the light on, the bulb blew.... more

I stayed here for one night as I was attending a meeting in Manchester and I was deeply disappointed. I realise this is a budget hotel however for such a large chain they get the basics very wrong. Firstly you have to pay to park your car overnight in the car park ? Never had this at a hotel before.... more

Ashamingly , i have stayed in so many travelodges around the country and they are absoutely pristine and lovely . We checked into our room and it STANK of bleach . We then went out . At 2 am in the morning , coming... more

We stayed here for one night on the saver rate of £19. I wouldn't recommend paying anymore than this or you could be disappointed! Cant fault the staff who were all very helpful and the location for the city centre is ideal. Dont plan on romantic strolls around the hotel though, its not the most picturesque! Our room was pretty... more

Travelodge Manchester Sportcity is situated on Birch Street, just off Hyde Road and across the road from a large Gala Bingo. The property is surrounded by distinctive, tall metal fencing. First thing of note here is, and had not come across this before with a Travelodge, that parking outside the hotel is pay and display and at the time of... more

I stayed at this hotel recently and paid the Saver deal of £29 a night. When there's a big event or artist playing in Manchester, it can be almost impossible to get a room, regardless of how much one is prepared to pay, unless booked months in advance. On the night that I stayed, there was nothing available in the... more

Stayed here for 1 night in June 2008 for the Bon Jovi concert at the City Of Manchester stadium. The hotel was ideally located for the concert, being a 10 minute or so walk from the stadium which was perfect in a week of traffic jams and packed trains getting from stadiums all over the country as I did many... more

We stay here for one night post Ricky Hatton fight. I thought I had booked the Great Ancoats Street Travelodge and only realised on the morning of the fight that I had messed up the booking. I read the reviews pannicked and tried to cancel but it was too late so we decided to go and see what it was... more
