We stayed here for 3 nights whilst on tour. The rooms are pleasant and quite roomy. The food was OK. The furniture and carpets are cheap and scruffy. We felt quite trapped, as the hotel is a couple of miles from anywhere, on a busy main road, so you can't walk into town. We found the road noise quite wearing,... more

Really nice hotel, bit out of the way but lovely place to stay. Only complaint was bar didn't stay open very late and there was no where near by for late drinking. Food nice enough and rooms clean. more

Having checked out the previous reviews I was dubious about our choice of hotel, but our doubts proved unfounded. The rooms were comfortable, the meals were presented well, more than ample and very tasty. The staff - receptionists, bar and dining room staff and domestics - were ready to assist with any queries, and solved our only problem quite quickly... more

After reading the last couple of reviews we weren't looking forward to our stay at the hotel, but fortunately on arrival our fears were unfounded. I can honestly say that we were very impressed with the comfortable ambience of the public rooms. Our bedroom was bright and clean with fresh towels daily. The food was plain and not very interesting,... more

We stayed at the Earl of Desmond last week (August 9th) and were glad to have a roof over our heads because everything else in the area was full. We felt that the room was overpriced, given it's outdated and worn appearance, but our big complaint was the noisy wedding party that poured out into the front parking lot and... more

Seriously bad value at €150 per night. Four star prices for what should be classed a 2 star hotel.Very poor advertisment for Irish hotels. Stayed two nights requested a change of room as the room had a damp smell. Although there was availability on the Friday night was told that nothing could be done as the hotel was fully booked... more

Attended a wedding in December and found the residents bar and hall for the reception splendid. The service was a little gruff from the waiters and waitresses and got gruffer as the evening progressed, ie sandwiches being slammed down without a whimper. However, management was much more attentive. My room had a wonderful bathroom but I found the bed arrangement,... more
