You can walk to Muckross House and the park. You are in the town, so you can partake of the town activities with just a short ride. Yet, Cahernane is set in a parklike seeting away from the city noises. Our room was in the new wing. It was a junior suite with a nice balcony and large windows overlooking... more

We stayed 3 nights at the Cahernane House and had a very good time. The inside and out are very nice and the staff is good. It feels very "homey" and I would stay there again without thinking about it. Not far from town but far enough that you do not hear any traffic. Not far from the park either.... more

Our review from 11 June 2004 holds. This was our 4th stay at the Cahernane and this time we were lucky enough to bring our 2 yr old daughter. She loved it too. She even called it "our new home" :) She loved taking a Horse and cart ride just down the road too! The staff, as usual, were friendly... more

In 2004 our younger son was married to a Killarney woman. We were booked in to the Cahernane for part of our three day party. We have returned each year since. It is a perfect hotel in a perfect location. We have been there in rain and in shine and it never fails to please. The management and staff (many... more

My mother, my sister, my daughter and I had a wonderful 10 days in Ireland and we all agree that our most memorable stay was at the Cahernane House - it was just as pictured and beautiful, even in the last days of winter! The rooms were huge, the bathrooms all first class and renovated, and the breakfast delicious! My... more

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. The different wings of the hotel each have their own decor - old meets new with drawing rooms traditionally decorated and the newer part of the hotel containing the beautiful conservatory area. Our room was situated in the new extension of the hotel. The room although traditionally decorated was of excellent... more

The Positives: Very handsome entrance down a tree lined street to a beautiful, stone victorian house. The service was excellent and friendly from start to finish. I would wake up and use the internet in the beautiful public rooms and inevitably someone would come and ask if I wanted a cup of coffee. The public rooms are gorgeous and authentic... more

A grand and peaceful mansion set in its own grounds with a modern but complementary bedroom wing . Its about a 25min walk or £5 taxi trip to Killarney town centre. A little jewel tucked away down an avenue of trees and quite divorced from the large bland touristy hotels on the Muckross Road. We stayed for 4 nights in... more

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Cahernane House on our first trip to Ireland. Although pricey, it was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed at. It is a beautiful, grand old mansion and our room was in the main house. We bought the weekend walking package which included breakfast both days, dinner in the Herbert Room one... more

Our Daughters wedding took place on May 5th 2007. The weekend was excellent. We travelled from Derry to Killarney and were greeted with a very friendly and courteous staff. Debbie and her staff provided an excellent service to over 90 people. Anything we needed they were able to provide. the food was magnicificent! the rooms were spotless and i feel... more
