The hostel is situated on the northside of the river Liffey. If you arrive at Dublin Airport, I would advise you nót to take a taxi, but to take the bus to the city's busdepot. It's much cheaper and almost next to the hostel. (So is Connolly Station.) From Jacob's Inn, It takes you only about 5 minutes (on foot)... more
the hostel is near the bus station and near the city center and this is the only good thing..i was in a 12 mixed room and i paid 25 euros a night, so it was cheap but not so much....the hostel is DIRTY, the kithchen also, the rooms sometimes smell and the breakfast is quite small...and the cups are dirty!i... more
When we checked in we were asked to leave a 'key deposit' for our room keys. Upon checkout when we asked for our 'key deposit' back we were told there was no such thing by the same guy who took our deposit in the first place. Basically it was a scam and we had no way to prove it. Make... more
Stayed in the ten bed dorm with colleagues on a weekend in Dublin. Everything dirty and worn, crisp packets in the bed, poor lighting, unsavoury bathroom. Staff rude and unhelpful. Find some extra money and stay somewhere else. more
I really liked spending three nights there. It was peak season and the hostel was packed though the spacious rooms were quite a plus. It was a modern, perhaps too big, place to stay in. The bathrooms (in and outside the rooms) were clean and spacious. And what's its best point, a wonderful location close to the city center and... more

We came to Jacobs Inn in Febuary, and it was really cold outside, yet our room was baking hot. To cut a long story short both myself and my boyfriend became ill due to... more
I've stayed at this hostel a few times over the past 3 years and it is one of the best that I've stayed in across Europe. There aren't many that I would go back to! It's clean and modern and offers a great location in Dublin City centre. It's close to the bus and the new tram station. It's everything... more
Great place to stay. Fab location, opposite taxi rank and next to bus stop with busses that go to and from the airport every 10 mins. Clean and modern. Lifts are a bit slow but thats the only negative point I can give. Bathroom modern and clean. Unbelievable price considering how good this Hostel actually is. If your are staying... more
Jacobs Inn was the noisiest hostel that we've ever been! Room was very dirty (cleaningmethods ancient and inefficient) and the bedlinen disgusting. Staff wasn't helpful and seemed to be there just for fun. We felt so disappointed 'cause otherwise Dublin was (and is) great! more
