Great doors and floor! No tea/coffee facilities in the room and it costs a fortune to have it delivered to your room. No double glazing so you get to hear all the drunks going back to their hotels between 1am and 4am and then the street cleaners at 7am. No views and nasty starched bedding. Would not go again and... more

As we were going to be in Dublin for a Tom Waits gig in the Park at the end of July, we decided to stay over and as a treat (our anniv) rather than pick a cheap B&B we chose the Clarence and we are glad we did. Top hotel & service outstanding. The concierge took our bags and parked... more

Very nice hotel. Located in noisy templebar area but with the windows closed you cant hear anything. It was too cold and rainy when we were there in august to have them open anyway. All the staff were very helpful and gave 5 star service. Bed was the best bed ever! The pillows and doona were amazing, I didnt want... more

An expensive overated hotel. Despite the expensive price of the room there was no air conditioning , consequently had to have the windows open onto a noisy temple bar area. Awoken early morning by the loud sound of beer kegs and bottles Bar is very poor with exceptionally poor service. Hotel lacks atmosphere. more

We really enjoyed our stay at The Clarence. We made our booking via hotelsdirect.com, but when we arrived at The Clarence they didn't have a record of our reservation. We had been promised a river view room and unfortunately none were available when we checked in. The receptionist was clearly embarrassed by this and did all she could to put... more

I wanted to relax in a luxurious atmosphere and this hotel was perfect. The Clarence is elegant and the staff is really service minded. The Tea Room serves fantastic food and the service is also outstanding. I will most certainly visit this hotel again. more

This hotel is in a perfect location for business and nightlife. The service at the front desk and in sales (Column Fleming) was very on point. The suites are definitely recommended - will certainly be back. more

I initially avoided The Clarence based on the reviews on this site. But at the last minute, a friend urged me to reconsider and we booked there for 2 nights at the start of a week long visit to Ireland. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay. We were upgraded on arrival (thanks to Amex) and had a large, comfortable... more

We decided to splurge a bit on this trip to Dublin and stay at The Clarence for a night. It was a lovely hotel. If you are looking for ornate and overdone, this probably is not the place for you. But if you want a stylish room in a great location with outstanding service, I cannot recommend enough. If you... more
