What a dreadful, miserable place! This hotel comes from another era and should be sent back there forthwith. I stayed in room 10 on the first floor, which was at the top of a spiral staircase that looked and felt like it was a safety hazard. The room was clean but, smelt as if it had been newly polished. The... more

Did not stay here, however visited for a private function. Outside appearance OK, however inside the entrance area there was a odd smell. A dog appeared to have access to area where food was being served. - Staff did nothing to stop this situation. Public areas have damp patches in walls and ceilings. Hotel could do with major refurbishment. more

I phoned this hotel directly and got a lower price than quoted on the web. We needed a family room for just one night while seeing a concert and this place was the best value in town at the time. We paid £70 B&B for 2 adults and 2 children. The cooked breakfast was excellent and plentiful, served by friendly... more

I stayed here one night and couldnt wait to get out. The bathroom was lit by a 30watt bulb, when having a shower the shower curtain had to be left open or I was showering in the dark. The decor was dark brown which was very depressing or maybe to hide the nicotine stains. I had to go to the... more

Always stay at this hotel when staying in Inverness Found the staff to be friendly, accommodation in good order and food has always been presented well. Have been coming here for years and its nice to say that a lot of the staff are still there from when i first came here more

Normally, when we visit Inverness we stop at this hotel. We have tried others, but this is our favourite. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. The bar is well stocked. The food is of a consistently high quality. The rooms are well appointed, and every room we have stopped in as been ensuite, with bath. Each... more

My partner and I had the misfortune to stay at this hotel in May 2006. From the outside it looks relatively okay but the exterior belies the dank and unwelcoming atmosphere inside. Upon walking in we had to wait in the smelly, messy hall way (you couldn't describe it as a reception as it was far too small), then after... more

Spent two nights at the Loch ness House Hotel last weekend. We had a room at the front of the hotel and were at first a little anxious about noise from the road, but after dark the road was very quiet and not a problem. Our room was quite pleasant - a four poster bed, couple of chairs and an... more

Had a 10-Day whistle-stop tour around Scotland, at the Loch Ness House was by far the best hotel we stayed at (just one evening - wish we could have stayed longer). Booked through Late Rooms, was overjoyed to find very large room, four poster bed and traditional Scottish decor (plenty of Tartan!). And then found a Spa-Bath in our large... more

There is no doubt about it - Inverness is the best place to base a visit to all the many attractions of the surrounding highlands. The Loch Ness House Hotel is perfectly situated on the A82 as almost the first building you pass on your left if driving from Fort William. The key points: 1. Excellent value 2. Great central... more
