Young singlesWe loved staying at the Lorimer House in St. Andrews. Very friendly and welcoming. Great rooms and a delicious breakfast. Unbeatable location. more
We were lucky enough to spend a night at Lorimer House in June. Incredibly friendly and accommodating hosts, an excellent breakfast, and newly renovated rooms made one of the highlights of our visit to Scotland. The room was most comfortable, with satellite TV and an en suite bathroom. The location -- mere steps away from restaurants, heritage sites, town centre,... more
While staying only for one evening, we felt nothing but welcome during our stay. Rooms were clean and inviting, and the owners were nothing short of amazing. The location between the course and the historic sites to the north was just what we were looking for and allowed us to complete all of our sightseeing. We managed to enjoy a... more
Chris and Mick went out of their way to make our stay as pleasent as possible. They were more than willing to give us their advice on what to do and how to do it and then encourage us to do even more than we had thought to do. Mick's insights into the Links Trust were informative. The breakfast was... more
Without going into expansive details, I will only describe some of the issues we noticed: Worn, soiled linens; lack of a phone on the property, was told "you could find one up at the street corner"; different tariffs charged to different guests; owners seemed to be glad to get our money, but not super friendly, almost like we had interrupted... more
After only finding out about trip adviser we where shocked to find this review about our Guest House but can remember this Guest like yesterday. He has commented about having no public phone in the Guest House which is correct as there are two public phones within 200 yards from the Guest house and the public phone we had was...
Was very impressed at the standard. The room was nice, bathroom lovely and breakfast excellent. But was knocking on our door at 10.02 (check out time 10,00) and telling us to hurry up really necessary? Tourists are humans too! more
The Lorimer guest house in St. Andrews is a wonderful place to stay. Mick & Chris are friendly, professional and knowledgable hosts. Their advice from everything to pubs, dining and golf in the area was right on. Our room was clean, and while not the largest, was more than adequate. The location is terrific for golf at St. Andrews; just... more
My stay at this guest house confirmed to me that people running these establishments only need to be nice to you whilst you are a paying guest. No sooner had the notes exchanged hands on the morning of our departure, the owner virtually kicked us out of the front door with no sign of a farewell. I had settled up... more
Just got back from 2 days golf at St Andrews, should have been 3 but the snow was looking like getting deeper than the bunkers on the old course. If i was to rate the lorimer as the cleanest, friendliest, most welcoming, cost effective place i have ever stayed would not do it justice. Micheal & Christine are first class... more
I stayed in Lorimer House B&B the week before the Open in July. Michael and Christine could not have been more welcoming, and were always on hand for a chat, but never intrusive. I stayed in room 1 on the ground floor, which was very large, with two single beds and a small ensuite shower room. Price was very reasonable... more
