Nice hotel in a lovely location opposite the Botanic Gardens which is well worth a visit and just a short walk into the city centre. We had the four-poster room which was ok, a bit small and in need of a little refurbishment for the price charged. Breakfast is good and staff were helpful with directions etc. more

I'm rating and reviewing their self catered apt. available on 5 Brandon St.. You do book it through the hotel and get your keys there. Because there are so many things to tell, I'll do it in bullet form: 1. If you take the Edinburgh Shuttle (best deal in town) from the hotel, please be ready to check in at... more

Please be advised that the writer of this review is from the USA who say that one flight of stairs is second floor - here in europe one flight of stairs is classed as the first floor. We were not informed by the guest that the sofa bed was broken by the previous guest and the chambermaid was unaware as...

Stayed here for 2 nights - Warm and comfortable but room was shockingly small and the window wouldnt open! What in edinburgh would be termed a "box room". The shower was just large enough to stand up in as long as you didnt move your arms. Also - dont expect much in the line of social interaction from the staff!... more

We feel this traveller has made some unfair comments - The room in question is certainly not a box room. (A box room is in Edinburgh terms is a room /cupboard without a window) All our guests are advised on booking as to the size of our small double ensuite rooms and that they are not as large as standard...

Really liked this place. I stayed there for 2 nights mid week. Was over there on business. I booked the only single room and I was so pleasantly surprised. Small but very cosy room with perfect views of the castle and the lights of princes street. Staff really friendly and the cooked breakfast was, although not extravagant, top class! The... more

Myself and my partner stayed in the Inverleith Hotel over New Year's (Hogmanay). Having read the other reviews I would agree it is more of a Guest House than a Hotel. Just to clear up the issue about the walk form the Hotel to Princess St.,it takes between 15 to 20 minutes most of it up hill. Obviously it is... more

My stay of almost a week was great at the Inverleith hotel. Close to the city centre, nice rooms, great service! I got ill during my stay, and they arranged everything for me: The hospital visit, informing the family, extra cleaning of the room, etc. If you're looking for a nice and quit place to stay, this B&B is definitely... more

My wife and I weekend in Edinburgh frequently and decided to try a different part of town for our latest stay and having read the reviews tried the Inverleith Hotel. It is in a nice part of town, reasonbaly central but generally quiet with plenty of nearby restuarants. The walk into the city centre is all uphill but a pleasant stroll... more

On my arrival I felt very pleased about the nice building, interior which is a comination of tradition and classical design, very nice staff who made everything they could to make my stay comfortable and a nice experience. I think that the location is fantasic, it just takes 10 min walk to princess street and is in a very nice... more

We booked the self-catering apartment on Brandon street since we were a family group (6 at first, then 7), and it could save us money. I was at first a little disappointed (arrived in the dark), but I confess, I was wrong. The apt is fine, if a little tired, but really, better than many hotels I've been in the... more

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I will start by saying that I had the misfortune - yes that's how I would put it, to be allocated both the attic rooms. I was in Edinburgh for a five day course, I booked a twin room and told the owners that my wife would be joining me later... more

With regard to compaint about the attic rooms - as in nearly all Edinburgh Town houses, the top floor does have coombed ceilings but it is unfair to describe this as an attic. Infact we have many guests who comment on the charming character of these rooms and are more than happy. It is also not fair to say that...
