The Holyrood ApartHotel is hidden from the main steets (and somewhat hard to locate, as it's in the back of an alley called a "Close", but that's also what makes it an ideal place to stay. It's very secure, with ample parking, and no noise from Edinburgh's traffic. It is quite a beautiful apartment suite (we had the two bedroom,... more

Edinburgh can be a nightmare for hotels - at least double the price of anywhere else in Scotland - so the Holyrood is a nice surprise. For the same price per person as a B&B in South Edinburgh you can have a super smart two-double bedroom flat with a full kitchen, living room and dining table, two ultra-modern bathrooms and... more

Stayed 3 nights with my wife and 2 young children. Liked it very much. Very Roomy (2 bedrooms, kitchen, and a living room). Helpful staff. Had videos for our kids to watch. So close to the royal mile I could slip out and see a site while the kids were watching Scooby Doo -- leaving kids with mom -- back... more

We recently returned from a visit to Edinburgh. We booked for a week at the Aparthotel Holyrood based on the reviews read in Tripadvisor. Like others, I was a little disappointed when we initially drove up; however, the inside was lovely, clean and modern -- we were not disappointed. Driving up to the Aparthotel in a taxi is a little... more

My husband and I stayed in this aparthotel during a visit to Edinburgh for a friend's wedding. As previous reviewer stated the outside of the building totally belies the interior which is a shame. The apartments are excellent, every comfort one has at home dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer...the list could go on and on. A hamper of food is provided with... more

Inside though the apartments were very clean and spacious. Had to move apartments during the first day = first apartment had the most squeaky floor boards ever - TV system didnt work, went... more

We spent one night at the hotel and it was just what we expected. Comfortable room, freindly and attentive staff, great location for walking uptown. If you need a comfortable hotel with no special frills, it's a very good place to stay. We didn't try the restaraunt and we left very early to get to the airport. more

Stayed for one night. Happened to coincide with the Queen hosting a Garden party a few hundred yards down the street, so the traffic was a nightmare. The hotel is right behind the Royal Mile and a short walk from the rest of Edinburgh's attractions. The rooms are clean and bright. Lots of space and you're given everything you need... more

As everyone says, the place is excellent and like living at home. Of course that won't be cheap, but I still felt it was worth it for the convenience. Its a small place and tucked out of the way, so no views or anything, and a long walk to the new town and mcdonalds and whatnot. Location is along the... more
