Cavens is a delightful country house hotel set in a peaceful and tranquil setting.The owner "Angus" and his staff are friendly and attentive.Dinner is of a good standard and breakfast is excellent.The only criticism is that dinner is a rushed affair with the intention of getting guests in and out of the dining room as quickly as possible!! more

The hotel is in a beautiful location with nice views and peaceful, quiet surroundings. We found the staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. Stayed on a Sunday night on the way home from a wedding. Staff very friendly and the house is lovely. Had dinner and the food was excellent. A bit longer between courses would have been nice but that's the only criticism of our stay. Went for a walk round the gardens and surrounding area in the morning. Very pleasant. more
