This was not my first experience of the Britannia hotel, Aberdeen... only this time the whole set up has gone further down hill and over the edge.. Check in not to bad if you like to wait around the whole day while the staff potter about in a world of their own.. Located room on 1st floor and again very... more

Forced to stay here several times in the past as rooms difficult to find weekdays in Aberdeen. This 1970s mausoleum has now graduated from passively mediocre to actively offensive. Treated like a criminal on latest visit as I had the temerity to produce a gold debit card to guarantee meals charged to room. Make sure you get receipts for everything... more

This hotel survives because there is a lack of hotel rooms in Aberdeen and the oil workers (99% of the guests) have companies which are willing to pay the ridiculous amount of money charged. I stayed for three nights on business. I changed my room after the first night because the mattress was trying to impale me with the springs... more

We checked into this hotel last minute and found it was overpriced for what you got, and was cheaper if you booked before hand. The room was ok, but no better than a travelodge or something like that which would have been cheaper and probably in a better location. It didnt seem to have much surrounding the hotel, and i... more

As a lone female I found this hotel quite daunting. Walking from the car-park late at night I thought I should have a got a prize for finding the entrance to this drab dark hotel. Walking down endless long corridors to get to my room, in a hotel full of oilworkers, was a little unnerving. This was not really the... more

Well, where do I start. Normally stay in ABZ centre so I can walk to the office, but there was "no room at the inn" so I was put out in Bucksburn. First impression of the hotel was not that good. But then realised that some of the breeze block was granite. It took me quite a while to check... more

Stayed one night in this hotel while on business in Aberdeen. Location was good and near to the airport, Reception was ok with a relatively quick check in, Room was spacious with an ok bed, view was awful looking over a back garden of some type. Like the rest of the hotel it needs some refurbishment as it’s quite old.... more

I didn't expect much from reading the previous reviews of this place and yet still I was surprised how bad the hotel was. The staff are indifferent bordering on rude, most of the customers are oil worker types who seem unable to complete a sentence without the F or C word in it. The room was dirty, badly maintained and... more

my husband and i like to have weekend breaks, and we have been to a lot of hotels in Scotland, the day we were going to the Britannia, we were not looking forward to it because of bad reviews, anyway believe it or not we thought the hotel was OK, the room was basic but clean , we thought the... more

This hotel stands out as the single most ridiculously overpriced, badly located, badly maintained and unpleasant hotels I've ever stayed in. The place is obviously full of guys waiting to go offshore. I'm ashamed on behalf of Scotland if you end up here by accident (like me). I'm Scottish and my English wife and mother-in-law received were both badly treated... more
