Haven't written any reviews for a while, but a weekend stay at the Celtic Manor had me rushing for the computer. We have stayed here before and loved it. This time we had a deluxe room, on a package. The hotel is lovely, the best in the Newport area - the rooms and en suites are big, the staff are... more

hotel has wonderful country side charm, the 3 golf courses are fantastic BUT this hotel is a little dated and the service in the bars and dining rooms are quite slow...the hotel has 5 rest. and they all seem to serve the same type food...other than golf there is nothing that would make me want to revisit this hotel...this hotel... more

We stayed from Friday to Sunday - visiting for the Speedway Grand Prix at The Millenium Stadium. we are 2 adults and 3 children aged 1,6 and 9. Arrival and check-in were very smooth, we were offered lemonade and biscuits on arrival and the children were given goody bags which went down very well after 41/2 hours in the car!!.... more

Yes there are some nice things about this hotel - but the restaurants let it down badly. For Sunday lunch the only choices are a buffet (for £28!!) in the Olive Tree where they also serve breakfast, or one of the two golf club houses. I have never been made to feel so small as I did when turned away... more

The Celtic Manor is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. I can't agree with other reviews that it's the best of the best (6 stars, etc.) because it isn't. Other places do things better and for me, it's the small things that matter. But first the good; 1) Large room and HUGE king size bed - clean and good... more

The Celtic Manor Resort is truly wonderful. Set in 1400 acres with three golf courses, including the new 2010 Ryder Cup course, two hotels - the original Manor House and the Resort Hotel - spa facilities, beautiful swimming pool, and extensive conference facilities which are discretely hidden away between the two hotels. We stayed for three nights in the Resort... more

My wife and I needed to stay in Newport for a conference in the city's Riverside Centre, and as the conference dinner was being held at Celtic Manor I tried for accommodation at quite short notice. The internet price was about £200 for a double room, but a phone call revealed a much lower weekend rate for the main Resort... more

I have stayed at the Celtic Manorl a few times over recent years and never tire of this hotel, its facilities and the splendid views over the golf course.. The staff are always very pleasant - even when we turn up on motorbikes! We ate in the Patio restaurant in the Manor House part of the hotel - the food... more

I stayed here for two nights for business purposes and did not use the world class golf facilities on offer. I arrived late and pulled up outside the hotel and was greeted with very polite and pleasant staff and informed of the underground parking and clear instructions how to get there, including the offer of a member of staff to... more
