We stayed at the Castle whilst attending a friend's wedding in the area. I agree with many of the reviews posted. You can see that the hotel is making effort with it's redecoration (although it's a shame it's not more in sympathy with the building). We were quoted £100 a night but allocated a £75 room when we arrived. I'm... more

I stayed at the Castle this weekend and it was very dissapointing. The restaurant was ok and the food was to the standard of good pub grub. the breakfast that was included was basic but filling. The rooms (we stayed in the annex as did our friends) looked reasonable when we walked in. However it was when we went to... more

On July 26th 2008 we had our wedding at the Castle of Brecon hotel, what a great day was had by all, the Manager Noel and all of his staff did a wonderful job, nothing seemed to much trouble. The main Ballroom was dressed and set out beautifully for the wedding breakfast, service of the food was quick and done... more

We booked the hotel for our daughters wedding reception. The day was faultless. The food was excellent....melon with fruit compote to start, locally sourced beef which was excellent and a very nice selections of vegetables for main course, with delicious profiteroles for dessert....coffe mints etc etc ..all exactly as my daughter wished and had requested. The weather was kind and... more

Just been to The Castle for a lunchtime meal and what a pleasant surprise! The dining areas are sumptuously decorated with spectacular views out to the Brecon Beacons, quality furniture, cutlery and so on make it feel really plush with some great features (check out the massive door handles and peacock stained glass) Given the expensive hotel feel it was... more

We arrived late and helped ourselves to our room key which was laid out with all booking details, including name and home address for all to see on the reception desk, there was no one to be seen, however once we got to our room which was old fashioned and slightly smelly we had a call from reception to ask... more

The hotel were good enough to wait up for us as we arrived a little late at gone 11pm. We had booked by phone and not been given a choice of room but were told it would be really nice. It turned out our room was in a section of the hotel which had not been refurbished. The room was... more

Having recently been invited to the "Open" night at this Hotel I cannot believe the difference in such a short time. This was a Hog Roast and set out beautifully and with staff, chefs and owners all present. The driving force behind the change at this Hotel is the owners engagement of General Manager Noel Williams. We had a guided... more
