Having read some of the reviews on tripadvisor, I was a little nervous about staying at The Lygon Arms. I shouldn't have been. I stayed in the hotel with my two year old daughter for three midweek nights, while we visited my parents who live nearby. We were probably fortunate to have a room in the old part of the... more

We have just returned from a wonderful break at this charming hotel and could not have enjoyed it more. The spa facilities were wonderfully relaxing and on both occasions that we visited were exceptionally quiet. Fresh towels are handed to you on arrival and the changing rooms are well equipped with toiletries. Our room was contemporary with the most wonderfully... more

We booked a conference for approx 20 people at the Lygon in July 2008. The hotel is a mixture of old and new buildings, but is carefully designed so that your first impression is only of the old, quaint, original houses. Staff are really warm and welcoming and work hard to make you feel special yet at home. Some rooms... more

Really first class. Staff, reception, staff, spa - perfect. I stayed one night with 3 business colleagues. The only slight disappointment was the limited dining room evening menu. We had been looking forward to a great meal. Unfortuantly there was nothing on the menu that sprang out at you. A 'bit' mundane! A great shame. However we went next door... more

If your goal is to stay in a hotel that is charming, the Lygon Arms may be for you. In this case, charm means floors that are uneven, totting your luggage up four floors to your room (there are no lifts), and waking up to a screaming fire alarm at 1:00 AM. No views from the windows, of course. The... more

I stayed here with my partner for a weekend and didn't want to leave! Amazing building, fabulous rooms, the hotel has real character. The staff are very friendly, i couldn't fault the service. The spa was lovely and we seemed to pretty much have it to ourselves. Very tranquil. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are some excellent public... more

Stayed Monday / Tuesday night and although quiet, the hotel had a lovely atmosphere and plenty of couples dotted about. The staff especially the concierges were very friendly. Break was £220 for 2 nights B and B. Room was just off the old part of the hotel looking out over a courtyard and a really good size. As Leisure members... more

We'd booked a late break at The Lygon Arms - got a great deal on a Sunday-Wednesday stay, which included breakfast (a crucial point, as you'll see later). From the moment we arrived, customer service was excellent - the staff will valet-park your car (there are two good-sized private carparks at the rear of the hotel), and our cases were... more

This is my 6th or 7th stay at this hotel in the past 3 years. As part of a small conference party at last with all the work now apparently complete the hotel matches its reputation. I found the staff from reception through to the chef serving our buffet style dinner (conference only) to be exceptionally helpful. All the niggles... more

We had a lovely stay at the Lygon Arms. Very cozy atmosphere, terrific places to sit and relax, great service--loved it all. We had a room with a little patio area in the back. Our room had a modern decor with a flat-screen TV and a pretty bathroom. The bed was divine with luxurious sheets. The breakfast was superb--several choices... more
