We stayed in this hotel in April and found it to be in an excellent location, probably one of the best in Stratford. It is right in the centre of town but not on a busy road and easy walking distance to eveything. We originally booked three nights but stayed an extra night. We stayed at the back of the... more

Whilst visiting Stratford We came across this hotel by chance and must say were pleasantly surprised. The room was of a good size and standard and had good view across a park. The common areas were very quaint and had very cosy seated areas around a large blazing open fire. Excellent location and good overall value more

Our stay was a Birthday surprise as we had visited the hotel on several occasions and had a beverage in the bar area which we were very impressed with. Sadly upon arrival we were told our room was not in the main hotel but a small building across the car park, which we had not been advised about on booking.... more

The position of The Shakespeare Hotel is second to none, right in the center of lovely Stratford Upon Avon. The only down fall to this fantastic position is the small hotel car park. On arrival I had to leave my car overnight in the NCP car park a fair distance from the hotel. Though vouchers were given out to pay... more

We have just come back from a weekend stay and it was one of those rare occasions when everything (except the weather!) was great. The hotel is situated in the centre of town, the public rooms have lots of character and there are two very good restaurants (Garrick and Othello) which were reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and clean,... more

Booked a two night stay in what i was expecting to be a good hotel, and now i can certainly tell you that it is an excellent one. The hotel is in prefect location for exploration of the city, literally next to historical buildings and is possibly one of the most beautiful buildings in the town. Rooms are certainly above... more

We liked the tudor style look of this old hotel and were happy with our choice. Room was comfortable and clean, good bathroom and pleasant furnishings. Staff were friendly and helpful and the general ambience of the hotel was welcoming and full of character. Nice fireplace and comfortable antique sofas and chairs near the lobby and bar. Creaking floorboards added... more

what a hotel! if you go to the 17th century-town stratford upon avon and you search for an old-style hotel right in the centre, then the Shakespeare hotel is the best choice. Mercure 4* says it all, large rooms with a high standard. the hotel fits perfectly in the city-style. GREAT breakfast, nice restaurant and bar, very friendly and helpful... more

Booked end December 2007 on hotel website Accor for 16 Feb - the nearest Saturday to Valentines Day and a Theatre visit booked very special day. Got a really good deal - but was this our downfall? Had confirmation and booking number by email but decided to phone a couple of weeks later to confirm as the deal was we... more

We spent two nights at this very charming Hotel. The double room itself was small but quaintly furnished however, the bathroom was large and plain. The toiletries were of a good standard. My son who was staying in a room the other side of the corridor had a much larger room and bathroom both of which were furnished in a... more
