I always stay at the Bedford Lodge when I'm going to Newmarket races. I'm a keen race fan so I stay here a lot. I really hope the hotel owners are reading this because they have a little gem of a property but they need to take notice of a few points that would improve it and get a 5th... more

An attractive much extended Georgian house. On arrival we were allocated a room (110 ) with no view and adjacent to two extract units. Quickly changed when requested. The hotel was predominately full of business people with a few more local people having a drink on the terrace. Friendly service at dinner by , you guessed it , a Polish... more

Hotel is basically ok. Its clean, good location, quiet. The breakfast was excellent. The leisure club was nice too. The hotel was let down by its night service. We arrived at about 11pm, to find the front desk unmanned. We went to the bar, where the bar man directed us to another bar. At this bar we came across 4... more

Best hotel in Newmarket. Walking distance from town centre. Helpfull staff. Restraunt waitress especially good. The pool was closed but the hotel e mailed to inform me before my stay and had made alternative arrangments for guests. Not expensive for what you got. Food was good although I didnt quite 'get' what the chef was aiming for with my chicken... more

What a fantastic hotel ,very clean, very modern in a great setting. My partner and I had a two day break here for my other halfs birthday. We certainly were"nt disappointed, our room was beautiful and spotless, the staff were very helpful and efficient. We know Newmarket quite well and decide to eat in the town which is only a ten... more

We stayed here for one night recently to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday, a group of 7 of us, including one 2 year old. The hotel has something of a peculiar style about it - the reception area and the rooms are very contempary and styled, whereas the bar area and restaurant have a more classic, homely feel - but... more

I spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The rooms and baths were clean and spacious, the showers hot, and the staff all very courteous and professional. There is ample, close parking and downtown Newmarket is within easy walking distance. The restaurant/pub offered a variety of meals at all times of the day and provided a relaxing space to unwind... more

Received a warm welcome from the reception staff. Room and bathroom both clean. Bed comfortable. Feather duvet and pillows, but option to change to synthetic. Probably easier to request this when booking. Excellent leisure facilities. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good - reasonable choice for a non-meat eater. Breakfast excellent. Would be happy to return to the... more

Stayed at Bedford Lodge for Valentines weekend (15th Feb - 17 Feb) and stay was comfortable but pricey, even though I had booked via Late rooms. Morning breakfast was really nice, as were the leisure facilities (swimming pool, sauna, solarium and steam room) that were included in the room rate. The room also had Molton Brown toilietries which my fiancee... more

I agree with the previous reviewer that it is a nice hotel that shoudld be great. It lacks something that is hard to describe. The rooms are pretty much standard with tea/coffee making, good bathroom and comfy bed. We thought that what it needs is a proper lounge/bar area. It feels really rather cramped, so you can't relax properly in... more
