Possibly the worst place I have ever had the misfortune to stay. The staff were rude, lazy and totally disinterested except for a Spanish lass who was working there to improve her English. Room was very small but bathroom was good. Tempted to sleep in the bathroom. Also be warned, I paid on the internet 3 months in advance the... more

If being unfriendly and unhelpful to guests was a requirement in the catering industry, then The Jersey Arms would be a shining beacon of success. A requirement to string 2 words of English together from a receptionist would be helpful, instead of the shrugs and grunts we received to questions on arrival. Our room, a double, was shabby and tired,... more

Stayed at this hotel on business for one night on 2 occasions. On the first occasion I was given quite a large room with windows either side - unfortunately there was a main road on either side as well, and it was a hot summers night so had to have both windows open & double the road noise ! But... more

Had very low expectations of this as it had poor reviews here but it was practically the only hotel with any rooms available at last minute near Oxford, and got a good deal. First impressions good - nice bar, ok staff. Room was fine - old style hotel - rag rolled walls etc. Bed bumpy, tired bathroom but clean. Food... more

This hotel is located close to the M40 in a very small village with a very rurual location. The hotel is divided into a number of units that surround the main building. The quality of the accomodation is very good however unlike many Best Western Hotels this one seem to have many unfriendly rules. Rule number one "we dont serve... more

I was a bit unsure about this hotel having read some of the previous reviews but I'm glad to say my fears were ungrounded because it's very nice. We were made to feel welcome, we had our children with us and a spare bed was hastily arranged. Room spacious, clean and with a homely feel. Refurbished bar and dining room... more

This site is noted online as having begun as a 13th Century inn, and it certainly looks the part: a sturdy stone and timber exterior framed with voluptuous ivy and flowering vines. Inside, however, Best Western and Mr. Livingston (the innkeeper) have created an oasis for the weary traveler. Our rooms, entered through solid wooden doors with period latches and... more

We arrived late afternoon and had a rather frosty reception - certainly no pleasant welcome. Don't be fooled by the outside which looks ok - inside is NOT good. The room was basic and shabby carpet and cobwebs - bed not even made properly - small pillows - and right over busy main road which was noisy. Breakfast (included) -... more

After a dreadful night in a leading "chain" hotel in Swansea, this place was a breath of fresh air. Clean, lovely room, attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Restaurant was no smoking, but the food was wonderful and not overpriced. Great place if you're female and travelling alone. Will return asap. more
