I stayed in this hotel on two business trips of two nights in July and august of this year. On the first trip the shower had not been cleaned and when I spoke to the receptionist I felt that the problem was not taken seriously, although eventually she did offer the key to another bathroom near my room. When I... more

This hotel was chosen for me as it is one of the closest hotels to the centre of town which has free parking. Which is a great bonus. It took me 20 mins to walk (briskly) in to town but there are buses which frequently go in. I have stayed here on business twice. The first time I had a... more

I liked the amenities of a hotel combined with the personal service of a B & B. The location was convenient. The room and bed was very comfortable and the price was very good. The cleanliness of the room was excellent. I had a very enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this property. The staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. more

Would not stay here again - more like a B&B than a hotel. Our room was a reasonable size with a very small ensuite. No bath but two large spiders in the shower , hot water kept running out. Decor was unimaginative and did not take advantage of the historic building. Room was on top floor (reached by steep stairs)... more

Return visit to the Parklands - last stayed in 2005 Location North Oxford. Roughly a 20-30 min walk from the city centre but there is a frequent bus service or you may be able to hail a taxi on the Banbury Road (GBP 4-5 to central Oxford). The Summertown district of Oxford is much closer - turn right onto the... more

Conveniently located on the edge of the colleges area and in easy walking distance of it, this hotel is typical of so many in the UK in that it is not very well converted from a large private residence. My single room was tiny, though comfortable enough for overnight stays, and the en-suite bathroom was no more than a very... more

We spent two weeks visiting friends all over the south of England and this was the most expensive hotel we booked but also the most mediocre. We were met my a lady who treated us very indifferently...as if we were rather an inconvenience. She wandered off up the stairs without a word...luckily we followed her because otherwise we would never... more

Checked in early after an all-night flight and 90 minute bus-ride. I was too early for regular check-in, but they were expecting me and had my room ready. Thank goodness, because I was about ready to collapse on the doorstep. The room was small but clean and well laid out (see my pictures). I'm small and I like compact spaces,... more

Great staff, great setting, good breakfast. Easy walk (or bus ride) to the city center. Free parking was a great bonus. Just beware that if you are booking a single you might end up with a room that has the bathroom down the hall. (though no one else can use it but you.) more
