Stayed here for a business meeting on the recomendation of a colleague. Found my single room to be pokey, with no air con over looking an alley at the back of the hotel. The bar was souless with loud music playing. Bar staff rather surly. Had booked dinner there, which was good, but small portions( 3 scallops with foam for... more

I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us and that we won't have the opportunity to make amends. Our single rooms are small, but well appointed. We do where possible upgrade our guests when rooms are available. I was surprised to note that dinner for 2 people was £190, we have a menu for £35 as well as...

My business is based in Nottingham and over the last 3 or 4 years I've probably stayed in most of the City Centre hotels - and The Lace Market is now the only one I'll stay in. As a semi-regular its nice to be recognised. Beds are very comfortable, food's excellent (Cock-A-Hoop next door is easier when you're on your... more

We stayed at the Lace Market on Saturday evening. On the whole I thought it was a lovely boutique hotel. As it was our wedding anniversary we paid extra for a superiour room:v spacious with large bathroom with free standing bath. Couple of niggles: the hotel is close to quite a few bars and therefore you could clearly hear revellers... more

We booked out 5 rooms for a reunion in Nottingham. I found the prIcing of the rooms very confusing and am sure we did not get a good deal at all. Paid £169 for a King room with breakfast and, in spite of my having brought so much business their way, I could not secure a discount - I was... more

We tried to get into another hotel in Nottingham but they were full and recommended the Lace Market Hotel - I'm glad they did. Although extremely difficult to find thanks to the one way system in the town, the hotel staff made us immediately welcome. Having got lost a few times on our way there, we arrived in a rather... more

Stayed here for a weekend when we went to a concert at the Arena. Is excellent location for the city centre and the Arena. Room was good but there was no air conditioning because, as the hotel information points out, there are planning restrictions because it is an old property. Room was well equipped and bed confortable. Bathroom clean and... more

Very nice hotel, professional courteous staff, first class food - BUT IT SEEMS SOOM ROOMS HAVE A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS. Stayed in the hotel for one night, loved the decor, ambiance, the staff and the food but, had problems with the aircon and smell of cooked food in the bedroom. Stayed in a room that was incredibly hot and humid, air... more

Good afternoon Thank you for your comments and I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We do have some smaller rooms in the hotel and these are due a refurbishment in the very near future. If you would like to stay again, do contact me personally and I shall ensure me meet your expectations.

As you can see this is my second review, written after my 4th stay at the hotel. I regularly travel to Nottingham as my boyfriend lives there and, since we see each other so rarely, we always treat ourselves to a night away with no distractions. He will occasionally come to me in Oxford and every now and again we... more

A complimentary night following a series of mistakes - see robbed in Nottingham. Had a fabulous room - on the corner with views in two directions, a delightful bottle of champagne and a hearty breakfast - superb and freshly cooked and delicious sausages. Now you might say I would say that wouldn't I. But its a sign of good management... more

I stayed there in 2006 and all I can say is that if your the new GM, you will have a lot of work cause. I'm a bit pf a moral person and I can't eat somewhere, there hiring drug addict, violent and alcoholic staff ( there were even one of them who did hit his pregnant wife), unpaid certain... more

We have considered this review and our response is as follows; We understand the need for our guests to express views and opinions, in many ways it is helpful to have the opportunity to respond in a positive manner.
