This small hotel is tucked away just 8 minutes walk from the centre of York. On a filthy wet day we were greeted with a warm welcome and a pot of tea and biscuits in the comfortable resident's lounge. Our room was equipped with everything we could possibly need and the very generous refreshment tray was replenished fully every day.... more

I booked Beech House for myself, fiance, and 3 friends as I was getting married in York. Not only were Mark and Geniene accommodating to our party of 5 but also many of our friends and family who popped in over our two day stay. They went above and beyond what was expected. We had a truly wonderful stay and... more

We have just come home from a lovely three night stay at Beech House and we wanted to say how happy we are that we chose this particular destination for our small break away. We received a very warm welcome as soon as we arrived, and from the minute we stepped through the door we were made to feel as... more

I had to check a few times to see if the other reviews were about the same place we stayed. Really disappointing stay and the website was pretty misleading. Think we may have had the worst room (4) which was surprising because we booked quite far in advance. As mentioned above not enough room to swing a cat in bed/bathroom.... more

We stayed for 2 nights in may 07, initially we liked it, the rooms are very nice and breakfast is ok.....the hosts mark and jeanine were very nice, but as our stay went on, this dwindled and by the end of the say we felt ignored and like they were put out to come to reception when we paid, mark... more

Visiting my daughter who is currently a university student in UK, we treated ourselves to a weekend trip to York and stayed for one night at Beech House, which is a short walk from the rail station and a few minutes just off the historical centre of York. It was obvious that the place was recently refurbished and we were... more

This Victorian terraced house - two properties converted into one - is in a very convenient and quiet position, only 15 minutes walk from the Railway Station and centre of the old town. The proprietors are very welcoming and friendly, and make you feel really at home. The room we had - whilst on the top floor (3 flights of... more

We've just returned from a two night Easter stay at Beech House. Room was lovely and well equipped. Owners have created a really homely and welcoming feel. No chintz in sight -a rarity for a B&B! Highly recommended! more

Myself and my partner were really looking forward to an overdue weekend away in york and we were not disappointed at the standard of this B&B. The hosts are really friendly, the room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was of high quality and tasty. Fab location 6 or 7 minutes walk from the centre of york, either through some attractive gardens... more
