We were staying in an annex with very little ventilation and a very dirty headboard on the bed. The room comprised of bed, fridge, broken t.v and little else. Was also very noisy. This is London though, and you do get what you pay for. more

My friend and I thought this sounded like a good, cheap, student friendly hotel to stay at last summer. The outside & surrounding area is very seedy, we actually walked right past the hotel thinking that we were lost, whilst friend commented on it not possibly being the hotel because it looked so rundown. But I suppose that`s what you have to... more
This hotel is divided into 2 buildings. All the photos on the web are of the redecorated main building which has private bathrooms. We stayed in the separate building which has shared bathrooms. The rooms and furniture are old but fairly clean. The bathroom facilities are extremely poor - old, mouldy, cold - completely inadequate. We're a couple on a... more
When coming on frequent visits to London with my partner this is usually the hotel of choice, especially if we need somewhere within budget. We've stayed here quite a few times (about 5 now) and it's been pretty consistant in enjoyability (if that's a word). The rooms all seem pretty different so it's luck of the draw really, but none... more
Although the hotel was cheap I didn't expect the completely inapproprite comments from the male receptionist when I arrived. The first thing I checked when i entered my room was if I could lock the door from the inside. I would discourage any women to avoid this hotel to avoid the horrible men that work here. more
I stayed in Room 103 and for the price I paid (£45/night) in cush a good location in London, it has to be considered pretty good. (Cheapest hotel I could get was £over £100/night). Of curse there are things you can complain about - poor breakfast, poor decor, no tea/coffee facilities) - but you get what you pay for and... more
Actually I thought City View Hotel was a rather affordable and good choice for my stay in London just until today when I checked by savings account. I turns out that just a few days after salary three transcations were made that Im confident I know nothing about. Thinking back, this hotel required full information on my card details to... more
The first room I was offered was on the ground floor and had the curtains closed in the middle of the day, presumably so that I wouldn't notice the broken window covered with cardboard.... Reception feigned surprise when I mentioned this. I was moved upstairs where the room looked somewhat cleaner, although the headboard of my bed was decidedly grotty,... more
I stayed in a single room (with double bed) with shared bathroom, no breakfast. Plus points: the bed was reasonably comfy, tube station just a few steps away, very close to the city, cheap for London. Great greasy spoons in Bethnal Green! Room itself OKish. Minus points: Bathrooms in poor state of repair, not always clean - mouldy, chilly. Had... more
Bad points: - from the outside it looks like an amsterdam's red light zone place. from the inside - you eat (the same breakfast - eggs, toast, strawberry jam, cornflakes with a lot of conrflakes, not much milk) at the reception, the table cloths are NOT changed. the rooms are small. nowhere to put your stuff (the closet is ridicoulosly... more
