Hotel is well run with friendly unobtrusive staff and clean, well decorated rooms. Location is excellent, just a short walk from St James's Park, Big Ben, Westminster Pier for boats down the river and Buckingham Palace. The road outside is quiet late at night till early morning, but it's a pity that there is no double glazing for that light... more

Liked this hotel very much it has been nicely and tastefully refurbished. Very helpful staff who assisted us with a very early check in. Excellent and quiet location within close walking distance of the Royal Parks and all the sights of Westminster. Probably the best beer in London is served in the Pub. We were not disturbed by any noise... more

Stayed here for one night as my husband was running the London Marathon and we couldn't have chosen better! First the hotel - It's small but perfectly formed! The room (101) was small and was dominated by a large four poster bed. It was clean, well decorated and with all the little extras you usually get in a larger hotel,... more

Very conveniently located, just down the block from the St. James Park tube station. The Fuller's Pub on the ground floor is a nice, comfortable place to grab a bite to eat and a pint. It is pretty quiet except at lunchtime during the week. If your stay comes with the free continental breakfast, it is fairly good and served... more

Overall, we had a very satisfying experience. The location was great, very close to the Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, St. James Park, Buckingham Palace and somewhat close to the Trafalgar Square with all its museums and attractions. We stayed in the twin superior room--which was big, clean, well furnished. The bathroom was also big and had a terrific... more

Just got back from staying at this hotel for 4 nights! Fantastic location!! Right in the middle of all the main sites...Big Ben, St. James Park, Buckingham Palace, Parliament, Westminster Abby. Steps from the St. James tube station. Got a great deal from hotels.com...better than booking directly with the hotel. The hotel was cozy and had a B&B feel. Friendly... more

The location was what made us choose the Sanctuary House as it is so close to the Palace of Westminster. I feel that some of the reviews on this site don't really do it justice - it really was very good indeed! It's true that it is really only a place to sleep, and it is no facilities other than... more

It was recommended that I stay at this hotel while visiting London by family members who loved the hotel and it's location. I booked a room for a stay in June 2007 for 4 nights, but when I got to London, I found that there was a building collapse near this hotel and the street was closed off. OK, understandable.... more
