Booked this hotel as it was only one with rooms in area (wonder why?). Hotel looks shabby from outside and inside. Money is being spent on bedrooms, but not enough. Why travel to a Victorian Spa building and have an ulra modern city boutique style bedroom? All communal areas are run down and really tired. Refurbished rooms have space on... more
My Wife and I visted the The Gof Hotel in woodhall spa for my friends wedding and stayed over the night (room 5) Food at the wedding was buffet style - great food, beautiful presentation of the salmon, service was fantastic and the bar staff were great...we were up untill 2.30am ! Breakfast was buffet style and was ok. the... more
As one of the principal organisers for the event described by omegaman Blackpool I would like to record the fact that the Golf Hotel owners were quick to acknowledge that things were not up to their usual standard and did come to an agreement with me regarding recompense on the night They did recognize that this event had been marred... more
I visited this hotel on April 5th 2008, as it was my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, and they wanted all friends and family to have a meal here. I was booked into a room for the night aswell. There were about 30 of us for the celebrations, and the first sign of anything being wrong was when the starters came... more
My partner & i travelled to the Hotel for a business meeting, it took us over 5 hours to drive there, the last thing we needed was to be booked into a room directly over a wedding Reception/Disco!!! We dined to an average meal in the restaurant, after being apologized to by the waitress ..." sorry we're a bit behind... more

This is good value, £60 ish B&B My room was well decorated and had a smart bathroom, but the room was cold. No heated towel rail either. Fortunately there was an extra blanket in the wardrobe, but when a colleague questioned the temp. she was told that the heating wasn't on yet! 17th Oct.... Bar food was good and inexpensive,... more
Gosh... where do I start? I could rant on and on and on... but I'll try not to. Arrived 5 minutes prior to check in time so the receptionist was not happy and had to phone to see if our room would be ready! Booked a deluxe room, number 103. Blimey! We just sat on the bed and laughed! Dirty,... more
I’d forgotten hotels like this existed. Shabby, tired and gloomy – and that was just the public areas. Our room had worn-out furniture, cracked and crumbling window frames (as another reviewer noted), a tiny bathroom with faded lino on the floor. In short, the place needs a major rehaul. What was truly shocking (apart from the price - £85) was... more
