Stayed here for a couple of night last week, and am pleased to report that there was no sign of the alarming spiders referred to by another reviewer. I stayed in a very pleasant, modern room - with a comfortable bed - overlooking the lake. The staff on the front desk were a credit to the place, helpful and friendly.... more

Great position, attractive and clean...average staff apart from Nigel in Concierge who was marvelous. We had booked Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights but after Breakfast on day 1 we did not return to the restaurant, staff slow and disorganised, no one in charge and food dreadful, greasy and not well cooked, because of this we decided not to try... more

Really nice modern hotel, peaceful and modern, myself and my husband stayed here for the weekend, no kids!! Our rooms was really nice, we had a massive balcony overlooking the lake, really comfy bed, nice flat screen tv. The food was delicious, the drinks are very expensive so beware and the spa on a saturday - the pool is overcrowded... more

we stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding nearby, and found this hotel perfectly lovely for that purpose. everything is still very new and well-kept apart from the windows and ceilings in the stairwells, communal areas and restaurant... i have never seen quite so many spiders! not that we spent that much time in the stairwells, but it is no... more

We stayed here on the 4 august 2008 for first wedding anniversary and had such an amazing time. The staff were so helpful and couldnt do enough for us,they arranged champagne and flowers in our room on arrival and the resturant staff (Callum) even put a table a side for our anniversary. The food menu is limited but im a... more

I booked the Four Pillars as part of a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. I did a lot of research beforehand and had read slightly mixed reviews about the service at the hotel but decided it was worth the risk. I'm glad I did. The Four Pillars is outstanding. The staff were the most helpful, professional and friendly of... more

Stayed overnight at the hotel as part of our anniversary celebration. Really nice contemporary room, with view across the lake, very clean as well. Love the swimming pool - clean (again), The little downside is the main restaurant doesnt have much selections on its menu and had breakfast the following morning, had to wait 20 minutes for our coffee and... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend and although the accomodation and location was fantastic the hotel really lets itself down in the food arena. Whilst breakfast was reasonable our evening meals on both nights were overcooked and oily but just about passable - however the Sunday lunch was truely awful. The buffet style was dreadful from... more

I only stayed for 1 night and didn't want to leave. I found the hotel exceptionally clean, spacious and welcoming. My room was on the ground floor to the left of the hotel, overlooking the lake. It was very quiet, I certainly wasnt disturbed by traffic. Maybe it depends which side of the hotel you are in. The room was... more
