The Alvia Hotel is a really lovely, small, boutique hotel, with a nice, friendly atmosphere. The hotel is in a great location; just a few minutes walk from the pier and the The Lanes, and very easy to find by car. We had the room with the four-poster bed, which was nicely decorated, and situated at the front of the... more

Its TERRIBLE. Overpriced, not too clean (they don’t Hoover the rooms… or clean much at all if you’re there for a few nights) and the WORST pillows ever. Bad TV reception, bad landlady, bad Wi-Fi and could not believe it when the towels that I had left on the floor to be changed where just hung over the radiator to... more

I stayed at the Alvia for Friday & Saturday night in August whilst in Brighton for a bridge tournament, so just needed a single room to get my head down, nothing too special. I was impressed by the hotel's website, which indicated it was well above average for the type of accommodation offered and, at £48/night for a single room,... more

My friend and I were visiting friends in Brighton, and needed an Hotel close to the centre of Brighton. We had not stayed at the Alvia Hotel before - and we will not stay there again. Our 'Boutique style' room was sooo small my friend and I were always in each other's way. The TV did not work. We did... more

We've stayed in Brighton before, and know how expensive it can be, so were very pleased to find the Alvia. The website description of breakfast was very tempting. The room was clean and contemporary, (and okay if you like purple), but the bathroom was the tightest space I've ever been in! We had to have breakfast at a certain time... more

We stayed here at the end of May. Having been to Brighton before a couple of times i know how hard it is to pay less than "60 a night for a double room. This B&B is not a boutique hotel like it claims, it is a nice modern clean b&b, however some ikea furniture does not make it 'boutique'.... more

To say the room was “Compact” is being generous, getting around the bed just possible and you had to place yourself strategically to open the wardrobe door. As for the bathroom, I had never seen an en-suite “shoehorned” into such a small space; you literally had to back onto the toilet because you could not turn between the loo &... more

The Alvia is a modern, tastefully decorated hotel with a warm, homely atmosphere. The hotel is in a good location - 3 mins walk to the seafront, 5/10 mins walk to Brighton pier and 15 mins walk to the main shopping area. My husband and I felt that it was a good location, but any further away and we would... more
