Almost a five but not quite! The staff were super friendly and helpful, the location was perfect. The breakfast was very good. The view from the room was fantastic, being able to sit in the bath on a cold dark january night looking at the beautiful pier all lit up was perfect. However my only complaints were that the decor... more

A lovely stay! Fantastic hotel, particularly in terms of the service and the staff. Faultless! The attention to detail makes this hotel stand out. Expensive by any account but quality and luxury throughout. The rooms are superb. We stayed in a circular sea facing room which was frankly beautiful. The view is triple aspect and stunning, the facilities are spotless,... more

This was a one night break to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. The lovely free standing bath in the bay window of room 201 was a great way to spend time soaking in, while watching the sea. We ate at the gingerman restaurant in the hotel we had the taster menu which was lovely. The staff in the hotel were... more

We decided to give Drakes a try and are glad that we did. We had a fantasic weekend in Brighton backed up by staying at a most conveiently located, well run hotel. The bed in our circular room was as comfortable as they come, with fantastic views over the sea, and magical views of the pier and it's lights. Having... more

On the internet, the rooms look spacious. They are not. They are cleverly designed and the large bath in the corner of the room takes up a lot of space which is sadly lacking elsewhere. The wet room is exactly what it says. Some clever ideas in there, but no room to swing a cat. You can sit on the... more

We lurvve Brighton and fancied the last two nights of our tour 'down south' to be somewhere special....we picked the right place! We had the sea facing circular room at £200 per night room only...it was worth it. The staff here are exceptional. they are perfect in every way, from the unobtrusive service to the attention to detail. Every time... more

Oh we love it here... A few years ago when our relationship was just gettting off the ground we visited Drakes and stayed in a city facing attic room. It was secluded, peaceful, sophisticated and felt pretty damn special from start to finish. Question is was that because of a burgeoning love affair or was the hotel actually that good?... more

Excellent... Great location - convenient for walk-abouts to most of the central areas of Brighton - The Lanes, Pavilion, Museums, Shopping, Restaurants etc etc. Staff very attentive... just right..... Room was great with a fabulous sea view - stairs could be a problem for some though..... more

I stayed here with my boyfriend in september last year for our anniversary. Drakes is a boutique hotel offering great central location opposite the pier. Rooms seem expensive, toilet novel- no privacy. Little niggle was that carpets were frayed- but overall experience was good. more

Brighton has been on my 'shorttrip' list for a long time! And since a friend of mine kept on telling me about Drakes of Brighton, I decided to have a 'look' for myself... From the moment of reservation by phone (great service!) until the time I left it has been a wonderful experience! The room is elegantly decorated with beautifyl... more
