From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be an excellent place to stay. We were met by the owners Garry and Derek and their lovely dog Buffy, and were offered tea and biscuits while we checked in, then our cases were taken to our room, which although small had everything we needed for our stay, and... more

My partner and I stayed here last week for our birthdays. What a lovely 2 day stay. The accommodation was perfect and the room beautiful. We adored the 4 poster bed and the bedlinen was to sink into. The accomodation was spotless with great attention to detail. The food was superlative and the customer service matched it. Thank you for making... more

This was our first visit to Brighton and to the Cavalaire. We booked the hotel based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on TRIPADVISOR.COM and we were not disappointed. Our plane was late, we arrived in Brighton early in the morning at 2 am. Derek stayed up to welcome us and show us into our rooms. My wife and I stayed... more

Hotel or is it a bed and breakfast? What is the difference? The Cavalaire is in between the two as it's more of a B&B but the standard is first class. It is modern but with charm and beautifully furnished and looked after. The bedroom had more cushions and pillows on the bed than I have in my entire house!... more

Very warm welcome from Derek, who I found to be most accommoating. I stayed in one of the smaller standard rooms which was very comfortable and clean. Flat screen wall mounted TV, tastefully decorated. Small but very practical en-siute. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented. The property has real character. Highly recommended. I suspect the larger rooms are excellent. The... more

Really nice bed and breakfast. The owners were friendly and very helpful. Great location near bars and shops of Kemp Town and only a short walk in to the City Centre. Usually stay in larger hotels but this is top class we will definitely be back before Christmas. more

This hotel is a gem. We stayed for two nights, in a very reasonably priced double room. The room was perfect, very comfortable, decorated to a very high standard and super clean with generous amounts of teabags ,coffee etc more variety than anywhere else we have stayed. Lots of good quality toiletries and a really comfortable bed. Derek the owner,... more

I was full of expectation to visit the Cavalaire as the web site looks very impressive. The prices are high but this is Brighton and expect to get ripped off! I grew up in Brighton and after being away for many years I am very surprised to see what has happened there. First of all the town needs an uplift... more

Garry and Derek are the most unaccommodating proprietors imaginable! I had the most horrific experience with them when trying to make a minor alteration on my booking. A simple request to change a twin bed into a double bed mid stay (Room 10, which we were allocated, is advertised as a twin or double) and have my friend’s boyfriend join... more
