Great location and from the ground floor a lovely modern hotel. Very accommodating staff. As quite normal in the area, there isn't enough carparking. Bedroom had not benefited from makeover and was dated and tired. On the up, it was clean and had a great view. Cooked breakfast was poor (1egg, 1 bacon, 1 awful sausage, 5 tinned mushrooms and... more

I have just returned from a couple of days break in Newquay with a friend and felt complelled to write a review the moment we got home. Having read some of the bad reviews, I must say I was not looking forward to staying at the Carnmarth. I was expecting poor service, small rooms and was armed with my cleaning... more

The main areas of this hotel have been updated and have a great feel. The location of the hotel is fantastic - minutes from the beach and a short walk into Newquay. Then you have said it. If you book more than 1 room you are labeled as a "group" and the sub-standard service starts there. There are a few... more

Staff The service was poor. The breakfast room staff could not remember my order two days in a row (wrong food delivered). It was difficult to find any staff sometimes, the ground floor seemed to be deserted. The best member of staff was the Night Porter who tried to keep all the party animals quiet during the early hours. Room... more

We stayed at the Carn Marth hotel for a weekend in Newquay. I must say that the negative comments on this website did worry me a little, but upon arrival my fears were immediately dispelled. The hotel has a new and funky feel and the staff, far from being moody as suggested in a previous review, were friendly, curtious and... more

This hotel has a great location, a nice bar and reception but that's where the positives end. The £80 low season economy room we were given was easily the worst room I have ever seen in a hotel or b&b - I wish I'd had my camera to take some pictures, they would have said it all. The room was... more

We stayed at Carnmarth again for 3 nghts in mid October. This time we booked a first floor room with a balcony.... well worth the extra cost. The en-suite room had a very comfortable super king size bed plus Radio & CD player. The games room is currently being converted into an "indoor marquee" for the wedding market. Apart from... more

I stayed here for a night this weekend (8th/9th September). I would definitely recommend this hotel for a very relaxed stay near the beach and golf course. Plus points: Good value considering location and friendly personal service. Great location for Fistral beach and the best restaurant in Newquay ( New Harbour restaurant in Newquay Harbour!) Lovely views over the golf... more

I've just come back from a long w'end here with friends. It was perfect for our needs. The hotel is extremely conveniently located to the beach and town centre. We spent the day on the beach relaxing and then walked into town for the bars & clubs in the evenings. All of the hotel staff were polite and friendly. The... more

I stayed here for a wedding during the Run to the sun weekend and had a very pleasant stay. Yes the rooms are small but that didn't matter to me as I was hardly in it but they were at least clean and well maintained and good value for money. The location is perfect and the staff were so attentive... more
