Booked a family room, on arrival only double bed in room, hotel services soon provided camp bed which was comfortable enough. Husband forgot toothbrush, which was provided at no charge within minutes. Very good breakfast, great location, able to walk to restaurants and tourist attractions easily. Car parking £8 extra each day, spa facilities quite good, although jacuzzi broken. we... more

I recently stayed at the Grand Thistle Hotel Bristol in a so called Family room supposedly catering for 3 people. It was a double room, twin bed with a child camp bed thrown in. This booking was for 3 adults and we made that clear when booking. The room had only 2 towels, 2 cups, 2 glasses and clearly no... more

Shameless, unprofessional, and definitely not a 4 star hotel! Notorious lying about hotel they will transfer you to, not warning you in advance that they are fully booked (although you had a valid booking confirmation!), transferring to a hotel 50 miles away which didn’t have mobile phone reception, 3 hours in a taxi, causing a lost of a business day,... more

This was a nice hotel with good service and clean rooms. The location was amazing - it was close to many restaurants and the market. When I noticed a problem with the bed (one of the wheels was missing and so it sagged), they immediately came up and took care of it. The walls in the rooms are quite thin,... more

Great hotel, and good breakfast. Did think it was a little overpriced through and staff kept us waiting for a while when we were checking out. Overall, a nice stay and good location next to the markets, but not quite in the centre of town. more

I wanted to stay in a big old hotel, rather than a 1970s flat roofed box so I had high hopes for the towering and majestic and slightly gothic Grand Hotel (now called Thistle Bristol I think). Anyway, we arrived on a rainy Good Friday evening, to get the last room in the hotel, I think. We were in the... more

I recently stayed here, along with my friends as part of a hen weekend, organised by Brilliant Weekends. I have to say that I had a thoroughly good time here. The staff were friendly and very approachable. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend and one which I am sure the bride will remember. The rooms were great and... more

We booked our Hen weekend through the ironically entitled 'Brilliant Weekends' who will also be hearing fom us. We booked 4 twin ensuite rooms but instead got 2 king rooms an interconnecting lounge which had two beds hastily put into it and lastly what looked like a cabin room from steerage. The hotel looks nice from the outside and the... more

We booked this hotel for a two night hen weekend via a company called Brilliant Weekends. We were told that we would be staying in triple rooms, only to find that this hotel defines a triple room as a twin room with a camp bed stuck in the corner! Not what you would expect from a four star hotel. We... more
