We stayed at Black Bear Inn August 8-11, 2008. What an absolutely perfect get-away from the hot August days of summer in Texas. From the moment we arrived until our too-soon departure, all was exactly as we had hoped. The breakfast each morning was not only to-die-for but picture perfect too! And the wine and hors d'oeuvres gathering in the... more

A small group of us stayed in the cabins Sept 18-21, 2008. The trip and accomodations could not have been better. The breakfast alone is worth the trip. Kevin & Jerry go out of their way to make certain everything is as perfect as it can be. Will most certainly return to Lake Tahoe and without a doubt stay at... more

We stayed at the Black Bear Inn in last weekend and I can say, without a doubt, this was one of the most wonderful experiences we've had while travelling. Jerry and Kevin, the innkeepers, have created a beautiful oasis in South Lake Tahoe that, in my opinion, rivals some of the best hotels in this country. The Inn and rooms... more

The innkeepers Jerry and Kevin are friendly, informative and creative. They provide a comfortable, serene, but decadent environment. The rooms and cabins are filled with antiques and personal touches from the owners. They have built the Inn from the ground up and the love that went into the construction shows. The breakfasts are right out of a gourmet kitchen. The... more

We had a group of 15 gals all at once at the Black Bear Inn. Jeff and Kevin were excellent hosts. The grounds were immaculate as were the rooms. Very generous sized breakfasts were served with different place settings every day. Happy Hour was delicious with red and white wines, cheeses, crackers, and other hors d'oeuvres. Jeff and Kevin also... more

We will definitely be returning to the Black Bear Inn when we return to Tahoe. Very "luxury-rustic" and "lodge-y" feel. Tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Washoe Room (the most economical!) Only downside to this specific room is it is right behind the front desk, which makes it less private for a couple (at least during daytime hours). Next time,... more

We have stayed at the Black Bear Inn several times since discovering it in 2000. Each stay exceeds our expectations. The rooms (both the cabins and in the main lodge), the lodge, the food, the atmosphere all make your stay unforgettable. Your every need has been anticipated. Our most recent stay was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We stayed in... more

We stayed at the Black Bear Inn for our five year anniversary. The Black Bear Inn is beautiful---the gardens are very lush and well kept while the cabin/lodging is very clean. The Inn is located just a few blocks from the Lake and is very convenient. Although it is just far enough from the lake to enjoy peace, quiet, and... more

We’ve traveled the globe, and this is our favorite B&B anywhere. Hosts Jerry and Kevin provide a luxury setting and make you feel right at home. Part of the charm of staying at a B&B is feeling like you are staying in a home instead of a hotel, and this one is stunning. Lots of wood, stone, and western antiques.... more

After reading other reviews this seemed like "THE" B and B to stay. The lodge it self is nice but it lacks personality, nothing really unique. Breakfast was truley wonderful and the presentation done well. The sheets were a little worn for wear and the decor just average. Owners, Kevin and Jerry were aloof, almost seemed as if they were... more
