We usually stay at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, but stayed at the Residence Inn Halifax this time. As for the hotel in general; we did not like the "apartment" feel of this hotel, but this is a extended stay hotel afterall, so we should've expected that. It did not give you a sense of comfort & luxury. As for the... more

It was really hard for me to only give this hotel 4 stars instead of 5, but there is a caveat that all should know about ahead of time. The hotel is updated and immaculate, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the location is terrific - but the hotel is surrounded by bars and outdoor bistros - some with... more

Had to make a quick overnight trip to Halifax on short notice, I found the Residence Inn to be the best price for a downtown hotel. We found the rooms to be spacious and well appointed. It was a queen studio suite with pull out sofa. There was a kitchenette with full size fridge. We found everything to be in... more

Wonderful hotel. Had just recently opened so I was expecting the usual bumps in service that one might expect but there were none. Clean, comfortable, I'd definitely stay here again and have recommended it to many friends. more

Spent a long weekend in Halifax. This is our second time at this hotel. All in all a great value. The rooms are clean and for a suite hotel they provide a lot of essentials in the ensuite kitchen. I have stayed at many suite hotels and it has never been this good. The comp breakfast is also great (eggs,... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in early May. The hotel is relatively new, appears to be well run and aims to cater for the business crowd during the week - and it appears to succeed. The rooms are very large, with sitting and kitchenette facilities, fridge and stove - ideal for a longer stay - and are well appointed,... more

We stayed at the Residence Inn for a total of 6 nights this July. (3 nights at the start of our 15 day holiday and 3 nights at the end) It is in walking distance to the waterfront although quite a steep hill coning back up. The rooms were large and very well furnished and the kitchen well equipped and... more

Just returned from staying at this hotel for a week and was pleasently surprised. The suite was very well furnished and kitted out, superb staff and one of the best buffet breakfast i've seen in a long time. On the downside, because it is so central it can get very noisy at night. We weren't too bothered by noise during... more

Everything was really great except for the noise from the nearby bars. Our room (front of the Hotel), overlooked a Bar advertising 150 different beers, and the street was the main artery to the bar district - we were a bit spaced out after the flight, and it didn't strike us that noise would be aproblem ....well it was a... more

Good value for the money. Staff friendly. Full kitchen is a plus. Location good. Not all the frills of a full service hotel. more
