Lovely hotel in good area. All rooms at the back overlook an A/C unit that I think doesn't belong to the hotel. Even though there is double glazing it can be noisy for some rroms. We asked to be moved and were put on the side away from it. more

We were more than happy with our stay at the Lord Nelson. We stayed before 2 years ago and were keen to return given the locality. Its perfect for sightseeing, eating out and shopping. We were especially pleased with the over sized room on the 9th floor with a fab view of Citadel Hill! After a 4 night stay in... more

When we arrived, we were told that we were randomly selected for a free upgrade which we accepted, of course. But we think that we would have been happier if we didn't upgrade, because we got sent to a condo building down the block. It was a large, clean condo unit (with washer & dryer and full kitchen), but the... more

Whenever I am in Halifax I try and stay at the Lord Nelson. The location is great for shopping, restaurants & sightseeing. The service was excellent and the accommodations were very comfortable and well worth the price of the room. I can't wait to stay at the Lord Nelson on my next visit!!! more

Grand entrance plenty of teak, marble and brass to give it a regal feel but; the gate to the hotel parking was broken, the ice machine on our floor was broken, there was no fridge in the room and the pillows are very hard. The hotel parking is shared with other hotels and apartments, it's very crowded and cars are... more

My husband and I just returned from a three night stay at the Lord Nelson. The first two nights were uneventful, but the third night there was a very loud wedding party going on in the main floor lounge. We called the Front Desk from about 11:00 p.m. on, asking that the music be turned down. It was thumping through... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Lord Nelson. Our suite was upgraded to a garden view unit, the desk, security and housekeeping staff were professional and prompt, parking clean and safe, and the overall level of comfort was excellent. We always prefer staying in classic hotels, and the Lord Nelson is a nice example of such. more

I'm not a hard person to please but if your entertaining staying here please reconsider. I stayed here on a business trip, after a long day I just wanted to sleep. I entered the room and took a shower rate away. I watched a bit of mindless television then went to bed. The bed was indeed comfortable, so confortable I... more
