From the photos Hotel Arts looks really great, but when you get in your room you start realizing that things just aren't functional. Okay, let's start with the bathroom that is way too small. The head of the shower drops from the ceiling and is in the middle of the shower. What that means is that there is no dry... more

Have stayed at the hotel several times over the past two years. I do enjoy the boutique atmosphere of the hotel and stay here when the downtown hotels are out of price. Location is just south of downtown. It's a good starting point if you're headed to south Calgary. However, there is a transient population near the hotel and Job... more

decent hotel, very good restaurants in-house, helpful staff. attempt has been made to give it a sense of style. not centrally located, no mini-bar, cafe or in-house convenience shop...therefore if you need anything it's a short hike through what isn't the best part of town. if you want a cap/espresso it's, get ready, roughly $9 when brought to the room,... more

Intersting and unusual...easy to understand the name. The rooms were dark- even with all the lights on (that could be a plus or a minus depending on the reason for your stay!) Nice big screen tv and plenty of counter space in the bathroom.Lots of construction going on nearby. The bar is a great place to hang out- loved the... more

We paid $116 + taxes for a night stay at this hotel (found this price via Expedia and property honored the pricing when we booked directly via the phone). This is a boutique hotel... from the looks of it, they renovated and older property. The hotel lobby was small but very nice. Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms are equiped with... more

There is a huge emphasis on the decoration hence the name but along with that comes pros and cons. The pros of this hotel is the location: it is walkable distance to the museum, restaurants, casino and a Calgary Flames hockey game, and super deep bath tub for soaking. The cons is that the heater is so loud it is... more

Stayed for one night early January 2008 to see a game at the saddledome. Contacted hotel directly the day before and negotiated a very good discount compared to what was available online at the time. The hotel has impressive lobby and common areas. Room was large, clean and warm with huge plasma TV, comfortable bed and modern clean bathroom and... more

I got a discount deal on the room through a local connection and stayed here for four nights. Though it was generally okay, there were aspects of this hotel that would not have been acceptable had I paid full price. In particular, the bathroom: the shower was a straight-down-from-the-ceiling "flower" head that made it impossible to avoid standing in cold... more

When I stay over in Calgary I always stay at the Arts. I find this botique hotel just what it is described as. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. The rooms are quiet and clean. The room service is a little disappointing. If you can get a good rate, its definatly worth staying there. I have paid $109... more

The Hotel Arts is a very dissapointing hotel overall. In the course of a two night stay I have been in three different rooms. The first room that I was put in had no heat, and at -20C outside, I had to keep my coat on. When I called the front desk, they sent maintenance up, who seemed to know... more
